Help! Any optometrists around?

Hi, I am in Vietnam at the moment and this just happened on the plane… Is there an easy way to fix it? I really need my glasses. I am visually impaired, so cannot just make a new pair, these have to come from the US.

The frame is cracked into places as well. So I don’t know if the length can be glued back in or not. Or could that lens be put into a new pair of frames?

Help! Any optometrists around?

Sorry for the mistakes, using dictation. I’m trying to say the lens, I don’t know if the lens can be glued back in

My lens has popped out of the frame but it was the screw that had come loose. Will someone else have to do the repair because you cannot see well without your glasses for such intricate work.

If you are in Vietnam someone will fix that for you for pennies. You are in the best place ever to have that problem.

There may be an optician in the airport when you land?
If not, there will be one within striking distance, ask concierge/service desk.

And yes, you will be able to get a new pair made - if not perfect, then good enough to get by on (maybe even so good you wince when you see how cheap...)

I have worked in Vietnam for 12 years now, so I was just hoping this could be fixed. I am extremely careful when it comes to my glasses. By the way, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an optician at an airport here. I did have the frames break on another pair a few years ago, and it took a friend of mine looking around to get somebody who could take out the magnifier and put it onto a new frame. I think they might have to do the same thing this time. I just hope the lens isn’t damaged.

Fingers crossed and good luck OP.

Idea; If you know if any 5 star hotels where you are staying, ask the hotel concierge for optician recs?

Very ironically, we just got done doing an eye mission two weeks ago… Somebody would have been able to fix it right away. Both my cane and my glasses have broken within the past week… Just unlucky timing.
