How to deal with cut finger (pic)

So I cut my finger over a week ago. Had paper stitches, which came off a couple of days ago. I've been replacing the paper closures and covering with a plaster - but it's not closing. Any ideas? Would leave it open, but it'll catch on things.

Can you wave it at a pharmacy and see what they suggest?

Not today, but could tomorrow

Elastoplast until you go to pharmacy to keep it closed? Make sure you keep it dry.

That white skin is called maceration. It's really common when there's too much moisture around a wound. The wound can't heal like that because the wound heals from the outside. You need to keep it as dry as possible.

I've been keeping it dry. Being under a plaster isn't letting it dry out.

I recently trapped my finger in the car door and had the same issue. I used Steristrips on the cut and popped a finger bandage on (a fabric one not waterproof) to keep it clean but let the air circulate. It has healed well and I didn't get the maceration (thank you yellowwonder, never heard that before) but kept it clean and kept the wound from opening up.

Are you keeping it dry under the plaster? Don't let the plaster get wet and maybe splint your finger to stop it bending while it heals.

Have you tried the spray plaster?

Plaster has been kept dry, and with plaster on I can't bend it.
