Which car seats for a 9 & 5 year old?

I need to buy a second set car booster seats for the DC and it’s struck me I’m out of touch with the requirements Shock

I’ve had a brief research but am being constantly interrupted by the lil darlings, and finding the info conflicting...

I know mothercare advise and do fittings but god knows where my nearest one is.

My DC 9 is exceptionally tall and currently in a booster without a back, DC 5 is also quite tall and in a basic high back booster with ordinary seatbelt.

What do you use for yours ?

TIA

The minimum requirement for not needing a car seat is 135cm or age 12 whichever comes first. What you use currently sounds ok

Thanks, I thought so... just wanting to get it right :)

My nine year old is above height now. My 6 year old is using what you describe. Although as a point what is there weight? They need a minimum of 18kg to engage an adult seat belt. The high back we have has guides for a seat belt so that it sits properly and not round there neck.

My 9 year old is short, uses a backless booster. My 5 year old has a high back booster

You can't buy backless boosters any more and eventually it'll become law to not use them either. Ds, 7 is in a recaro sport hero which I really rate. Dd, nearly 5, is in a recaro monza nova, which I don't rate as much and it chews the seatbelt.

Both are hbb I should have said.

You can still buy backless boosters

They are for children over 125

You can still buy backless boosters. Newer ones arent suitable from 15kg like older styles are

The minimum requirement for not needing a car seat is 135cm or age 12 But not if you're planning to drive in the rest of Europe. France is 140cm and German 150cm.

There is a great Facebook group called careseat advice UK. I would ask there.
