Hi all,

My bed is old and knackered and it’s probably time for me to get a new one (yay!). I suffer from Sciatica and lower back pain and I think my current bed is making it worse so I’m looking for a new bed/mattress that will help with this.

There is just SO much choice though and because it’s a sizeable chunk of money to be spending I want to make sure I’m getting the best! I’ve had a look and I’m so overwhelmed by all the different options I was hoping for some recommendations from you lovely lot please?!

I think the mattress is the crucial part, needs to be an orthopaedic one, very firm. Silent Night are very good, DD is looking as well, as she has sciatica.

We also need a new bed/mattress. I have numerous aches and pains which are probably not helped by sleeping on an old mattress. I have looked at numerous websites and am totally baffled by the vast array of options. I think the only way to decide what suits you is to go to an actual shop and lie on them! I would be tempted towards a firm mattress but having stayed somewhere recently that had a 'firm' mattress on the bed, I'm not convinced - it was too firm for me.

bigblue I feel slightly better knowing it’s not just me that’s completely confused! I feel like firmer would be better but I’m scared to get it wrong!
