Think I'm allergic to the guinea pigs' hay!

I usually get hay fever most summers but I've been suffering symptoms recently in the middle of winter. Then I realised it's usually after feeding/being with the guinea pigs. Can I be allergic to their hay? I thought it was caused by pollen rather than actual grass/hay.

I am horribly allergic to hay. It’s a real pain. I can’t go near stables or into a petting zoo. My heart sank when we visited Santa one year on a children’s farm. He was in a kind of hay igloo. Cue full blown asthma attack!

Slightly more expensive than normal hay but definitely worth it for allergy sufferers. It doesn't set my husband's asthma off so it's been a bit of a godsend!

My DD had a patch test and she is allergic to grass, trees, Timothy hay, other hay, cats, dogs - you name it!!
So it makes sense her sneezing when changing the guineas Timothy hay when she was little!
She now takes cetirizine and we searched for hypoallergenic cats for her
Took her to a Bengal breeder for a couple of hours - not a sniff! Got two girls, as the saliva from the males is worse
