Los christianos is better than playa del las americas , better beach, nicer feel to it, americas is mainly grotty bar strip

We stayed at costa adeje which was a nice area. The hotel we stayed at was hotel GF Isabel and I would go back there.

Fireinthegrate · 02/01/2019 21:30

Another vote for Costa Adeje. We stayed at Hotel Gran Tacande. It was lovely. Would definitely go again.

Im toying between costa adeje and salou, salou is winning on the flight time but siam park and loro parque sound amazing but then again id love to go back to port aventura. Im going end of september/start of october. I hope its still warm

Another vote for Costa Adeje. I also agree with pp that Las Americas is grim unless you're into the nightclub life. I found Adeje good for families.

DragginBallsEEEE · 02/01/2019 23:14

Las Americas was the worst holiday we've ever been on. Will never set foot in Tenerife again because of it.

Nurse12345 · 03/01/2019 00:47

Dragginballs I agree, absolutely awful place.

CrazyOldBagLady · 03/01/2019 01:02

Costa Adeje was lovely but I would recommend getting a car and doing some day trips to other parts of the island.

Kezzie200 · 03/01/2019 06:04

Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife.

Not if you want beaches or local eating options but there was work going on locally last year which meant prices were excellent ans the food was really good. Live music at breakfast was soooo cool.

We got a car from airport and went out a lot so the daily building work across the road didn't matter to us much.

Another vote for Costa Adeje.

Be aware that the weather in the North is very different to the South. However, if you do stay in the North to get a cheap hotel, you could hire a car and drive South when the weather is bad up North. Petrol is cheap out there.

So you discount a whole island because a tiny corner of it caters for people who like to party. Bizarre.

OP, if you want good quality hotels, good weather and a nice beach, Costa Adeje is probably the best place to go. The north of the island is quieter and more picturesque, but isn't a beach destination and the weather is less reliable. It can be cloudy/cooler/rainy/windy while it is hot and sunny in the south.

Squatternutbosh123 · 03/01/2019 08:53

Playa Arona is probably the best beach, Adeje is the nicest resort.

Salou isn't in Tenerife

BarbaraofSevillle · 03/01/2019 08:58

Another thing to bear in mind OP is that Las Americas (party central Brits on the piss), Los Cristianos (family orientated but a bit 'mass market') and Costa Adeje (naicer) are all right next to each other and I can well imagine that there are some hotels where the address does not match the vibe of the area IYSWIM, so it's worth finding out exactly where the hotel is and having a nosy on Google street view to check that it's not on a loud looking street for example.
