Holiday inspiration needed

We are a family of 5 (children are 10, 10 and 6). We have a budget of about £2-3k for our main holiday this year which is a big deal for us... but we have no idea what to do!!

Where/what would you suggest? That budget only needs to cover travel and accommodation. And term time is out of the question as I’m a teacher.

Do you want UK or abroad?

An old fashioned travel agent might be your best place to start.

We have a similar budget & slightly younger children & our last holiday was perfect for us.

We had a week in Menorca & they played in the swimmimg pool everyday. We also went to the beach - 2 min walk & to various play parks. Did one trip to main town & did a boat trip etc.

I had lots of grand ideas about site-seeing & culture but to be honest the kids LOVED using the swimming pool in the sun & that's what we're planning for next time.

We actually came home with money as we only really bought food!

I don’t mind home or abroad - we all have valid passports.

I didn’t think of a travel agent... I have always assumed they will be too expensive!

How about camping in Europe? Or you might be able to get a nice apartment to suit your needs in Spain or Portugal on a complex with a shared pool so the kids can make friends with different children.

Have you thought about a P&O cruise? Royal Caribbean are better but would be over budget as they charge full price for children. P&O don’t. Brittania is the newest/biggest ship.

We are tempted with Norcenni campsite this year in Tuscany. Very reasonably priced.

Have you been anywhere before you liked, so want similar etc?

We don’t often go on holiday!! That’s why this is such a big treat. We went to Toronto/surrounding area a few years back and loved it.

I particularly like the cruise idea - DH woukd take some convincing though!
