Staying at Abode hotel and going to a gig at 02 Ritz. We don't know Manchester at all!
We eat anything...not steak places though.

Mowgli or bundlbust for Indian food
Ply for pizza
V-rev for vegan diner style food
Almost famous for burgers
Deaf institute for student portions Grin

My husband says Almost Famous Burgers. We've been to America few times and had burgers there but Almost Famous Burgers are his favourite.

We like Mackie Mayor on Eagle Street at the edge of the Northern Quarter. Big market hall with different independent food and drink places all around (upmarket fish and chips, pizza, pasta, bao buns, craft beers...) and big common tables in the centre. Best bit is that you can both eat something completely different!

Having re-read where you are going, MM is on the other side of the central area (though worth the schlep, IMHO). If you want to be close to the O2, the Indian Tiffin Room on First Street is a funky Indian street-food type place, with a good line in dosas and suchlike.
