Curtains and cushions do you have? Looking to get some new bits but needing inspiration if you can help?!

Needing inspiration.
We have had teal cushions and bright green cushions but always with plain cream curtains and I want a new look this year.

fiorentina · 02/01/2019 10:37

Bright green and also a patterned set mixed in. We have white shutters.

loobywench · 02/01/2019 10:44

I've got plaid cushions and curtains in duck egg, cream and brown and they look lovely

Lallybroch · 02/01/2019 12:03

We have a dark brown leather sofa and have cream walls with a red and cream patterned wallpaper on two walls, with red curtains and cushions. It sounds awful and it wouldn't have been my first choice, but my oldest daughter was using that room and chose it. It actually works really well and warms up the room.

Nottobesoldseparately · 02/01/2019 12:05

I'd go for red.

It will warm your room up!

Hoppinggreen · 02/01/2019 12:09

We have red tartan. It’s not bright red and it looks nice ( I think so anyway)

dontgobaconmyheart · 02/01/2019 12:23

Lots of neutral coloured cushions (cream, pale grey, darker grey etc) in varied textures to add intetest all over ours, and a chunky knitted throw draped over the back. Our walls are neutral with some brown beams. Neutral curtains too.

I'm not a fan of brown leather sofas and would've liked new ones as I think they darken the room and can look a bit dated but didn't see the point in replacing when they're in good condition and do the job. Went with neutrals to try and lighten up the look a bit more cheaply than replacing the sofas and getting away from the brown and then add colour in the rest of the room/accent chair/accent cushion etc, wall art etc.

I love this room

Its not mine but im planning similar...but maybe one grey leather sofa and one patterned

How bright is the room? How much sun does it get? What’s the flooring?
I’d go for a lighter throw and lighter coloured cushions.

Mustard.

Burlea · 02/01/2019 13:17

Terracotta.

Heavy cream curtains with brown and gold velvety flowers on them, paid a small fortune a few years ago and they've been a great investment. Cream walls, fireplace wall papered in cream paper with gold flower print which is glittery (love it!). Gold velvet and cream fluffy cushions. The only thing I really change is the cushions which have been creams, golds, oranges, teal, red..... lots of choice if the rest of the furnishings are neutral.

fussychica · 02/01/2019 13:36

I have one brown leather and one cream velour sofa. Cream carpet and beautiful cream self patterned curtains from JL. I have several sets of cushions so I can change the feel of the room depending on the time of year. Red velvet/red and green patterned for winter, gold velvet and gold and cream patterned for spring and autumn and green for summer. Change a few bits of art in the room and get a new look every few months for little money. Works for me.

MotorcycleMayhem · 02/01/2019 13:39

Teal, grey and white here.

AgathaMisty · 02/01/2019 13:39

Cream. They make the space airier and brighter.

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 02/01/2019 13:40

Green/cream/brown striped cushions. Dark greyish-brown blind. Cream & green oilcloth on the table. Brown/cream/bit of red picture on the wall.

If I was planning from scratch I’d probably go with just one of the green or red, but we had to work with what we had.

The duck egg sounds lovely.

AgathaMisty · 02/01/2019 13:41

Oh and orange or purple cushions.

MummysGlassesAreNotAToy · 02/01/2019 13:46

We have brown leather sofas. Walls are done in Dulux Gentle Fawn, and we've wood floors. Curtains are cream and then we have patterned cushions in neutral shades, chevrons and geometric patterns. We've got a couple of neutral throws to add texture too

4forkssake · 02/01/2019 13:51

Turquoise or duck egg

NicoAndTheNiners · 02/01/2019 13:54

Orange

BearSoFair · 02/01/2019 14:00

We have brown leather sofas, red cushions, and grey curtains. Walls are cream and red and carpet is grey so it all works together!

Ethel80 · 02/01/2019 14:57

Cushions are a mix of grey and floral and we have white wooden blinds. The floor is dark too but lots of white paintwork to lighten it up.

woodhill · 02/01/2019 15:02

Duck egg but probably dated but like it

SharkSave · 02/01/2019 15:03

Navy curtains and mustard cushions

OneStepMoreFun · 02/01/2019 15:10

We've had all sorts. Red and cream scandi-style; charcoal velvet. Currently stone linen chintz with plum and sage design.
