I have horrific acid reflux and nothing is helping. Knackered but can’t sleep.

Why are you still awake?

Just handed some work in (online) for my msc

Now my brain is fired up through all the thinking and I can’t relax

Longdistance · 02/01/2019 01:33

I have a chest infection. I’m wheezing and coughing like s 60 a day smoker. Haven’t slept properly in weeks 😩

LostPlatypus · 02/01/2019 01:33

I wish I knew! I've been awake since 5 am and super sleepy all day, so sod's law means I'm wide awake now.

@Armchairanarchist it is horiffic isnt it? I havent seen my GP about it but dont think I can tolerate it much longer, having fantasies about ampulation.

RavenLG · 02/01/2019 01:34

Because I have to be up st 6am for a flight but my body hates me!

MissConductUS · 02/01/2019 01:34

OP, have they done an upper endoscopy on you and what tablets were you given?

I have a sleep disorder too, call early final awakening. I sleep for five or six hours (even though I really need seven or eight) and can't go back to sleep. So I'm often on MN when the UK morning rush starts.

Feeding six week old DD

sarahC40 · 02/01/2019 01:35

Trying to find inspiration for a sunny holiday (coastal) somewhere interesting, that’ll suit dh and me plus two older teens. Without a car. Any thoughts as it’s keeping me awake?

EstuaryBird · 02/01/2019 01:36

Bronchitis. My own wheezing and rattling chest is keeping me awake because it just won’t shut up. If I do doze off it’ll just start an apocalyptic coughing fit.......Angry.

RolandDeschainsGilly · 02/01/2019 01:36

Middle DD vomited. Everywhere. In my bed, of course. Got her cleaned up and a glass of water, put her in her own bed (mid sleeper bunk) and I’m lying on the floor.

Hate cleaning sick up. Made harder by the fact that my lightbulb blew this morning. And I’m short and can’t reach to change it Blush

Toddler DD back at Nursery tomorrow I should be getting balls deep in revision for exams but looks like I’ll be nursing middle DD all day.

poppym12 · 02/01/2019 01:37

My mum died this evening and although I'm exhausted I just can't sleep.

TheClitterati · 02/01/2019 01:39

So sorry poppy - hope you drop off soon.

Since I've been off work (from 21st) I've been staying up until at least 2am every night.

School run later this week is going to hurt.

ClandestineAdulation · 02/01/2019 01:39

Donald I know what you mean, much more difficult when they start to know their own mind! You’re right to be concerned, of course.

namechangedbutneedadvice something else I suffer with! Lots of water, cranberry juice, lemon barley... all work for me but the pain in the interim isn’t nice.

To everyone else in pain - I have found my people! But I do hope you can all sleep sometime soon.

I have omeprazole MissConduct, but nothing exploratory done. Maybe that’s the next step...

ellephant · 02/01/2019 01:39

I'm on the night shift with work tomorrow, so staying up as late as possible tonight to prepare. Sorry for your loss @poppym12 Thanks

Babyroobs · 02/01/2019 01:40

poppy - So sorry to hear that, hope you are ok and have someone with you.

Safary · 02/01/2019 01:41

My husband Martyn was killed in road accident last Friday. Can't eat, can't sleep..... Not sure what to do with myself

ClandestineAdulation · 02/01/2019 01:42

Sorry for your loss, poppy Flowers

sarah have you thought about the Channel Islands? Not guaranteed sunshine but I’m not sure how far you were thinking of going!

OP posts:
poppym12 · 02/01/2019 01:44

ThanksBrew
I'm sorry safary. I don't know what to say apart from I'm sorry. My brain really isn't working properly right now.

madamefraser · 02/01/2019 01:45

Poppy sorry you have lost your mum.

Very trivial for me - awake as work tomorrow and stressed about sleeping

twiglet · 02/01/2019 01:45

Because I'm 34 weeks pregnant combination of pgp pain, bad heartburn made worse by iron tablets and numb arm (carpel tunnel) make it pretty impossible to get to sleep through the pain.

mmmgoats · 02/01/2019 01:48

poppy and safary I am so sorry you poor loves. Words always feel useless at these times but thinking of you both.
Safary I think the only thing you can do is whatever you feel ready to do. I hope you’ve got lots of real life support x

MadameFoner · 02/01/2019 01:48

@poppym12 and @safary I'm so very sorryFlowers

namechangedbutneedadvice · 02/01/2019 01:50

Poppy and safary I'm so sorry for your respective losses Flowers

Frogletmamma · 02/01/2019 01:52

Sorry to those with real problems. I am just rubbish at sleeping. Tend to do it randomly in 2 hour chunks. Dd is the same so weird conversations at 3 am are not unusual.

Crockof · 02/01/2019 01:52

Poppy and safary I am so sorry.

Kinda puts mine into perspective, I'm up like a Pp said, mind shut off over Christmas and now worrying about work, money, life. Plus drank far too much nye so on a massive comedown.
