Hi all, I’m trying to configure a Kindle Fire 7 for my dc, I’m a bit of a technophobe and it has taken me all evening to not get very far and I’ve been googling how to info to no avail, so trying here.
Can anyone tell me if you can restrict what the home screen of a child’s profile looks like? I want it only to display the apps, games, books that I’ve downloaded and not show all the recommendations and ‘you might like’. I’ve managed to get that off of my main profile home screen, but can’t off the child’s profile (as the Apps and Games setting isn’t within the settings menu on the child’s profile).
Am I trying to get to the impossible? In my head I envisage just a list or pages of apps/games that I’ve downloaded and nothing else??
Thanks for any help someone could share!

There is a help page I have found, following those instructions I can do this on my profile, but not on my child’s profile because they don’t have the Apps and Games option within their settings.

There used to be kindle free time? Do they still have that?

Have you set up kindle household?

I hope the links are useful. Smile

MyNameIsJane thanks so much for the links, I’m not sure if I have set up the child’s profile via KindleFreeTime - how would I know?? I know it is definitely a child’s profile, but when setting it up I wasn’t aware there were multiple methods to set up a child’s profile.
Looking at the links I can access and restrict content as per those instructions - but it is the home screen on the child’s profile that I want to limit access to what is being ‘recommended’ to via Fire for Kids (which came fre with the kindle for 1 year) and none of those options seem to let me do that and there is still a never-ending scroll list of apps, games, books, videos being shown on the child’s home screen.

So to clarify my question in case anyone can help further - I want the child’s profile to only show what apps/games are ‘on this device’ and not all the ‘you might like....’ and ‘popular.....’ recommendations hat appear on the home screen. Is this customisation too far or am I missing a trick somewhere in the settings on a child’s profile?? (As it was possible on my profile but that doesn’t have the fire unlimited stuff anyway)

Disclaimer - I set my DD's up last year...

My DD's fire has my profile set up and then a child's one for her. Hers shows any apps, videos, books that I have downloaded to my side and then shared with her.

Nothing else shows on her profile.

I have disabled Internet access on her side - have you tried that?
