After last nights pre booked meal going to shit. I was looking forward to a relaxing day with a roast dinner.
Dd2 has just been dumped by text by her boyfriend of 2 years.
He will be busy with work this year apparently 🙄
Is it to early for booze?

Not at all in your case!

HolyMountain · 01/01/2019 15:04

Dumping by text is a really shit way to treat someone.

Your poor dd.

Gohackyourself · 01/01/2019 15:13

Mines going shit too.
Dp and I done nothing for New Year’s Eve as we normally host a big party but didn’t fancy it this year.... but no one decided to take a turn and host us, so we sat in watching a crappy film.
He’s moody for some unknown reason.im too tired to even bother to figure out why.
I’ve worked right up to Xmas and up to new year, now on weeks annual leave and so much to do putting house back from Xmas decs.
Ex h has had his child Boxing Day only for 3 hrs in this 2 week period of Xmas.
Quite frankly... I wish they would all f**k off to work or school and let me eat what I want when I want instead of churning out meals and shopping for food like a cafe ( I’d live on cheese an crackers , one meal a day by choice) let me get on with shopping for new clothes for change of role come Monday.also I’d like to have no tv or sound for a day or two...... start my yoga or journal in peace.

What a way to feel on New Year’s Day eh?!?

Auldspinster · 01/01/2019 15:23

At work in a bank, much busier than expected, finishing my shift in 7 minutes and will be heading home to sleep!

Justmuddlingalong · 01/01/2019 15:27

It's been lovely today. Chilled at home with family and friends popping in. DP's whistling is however, starting to get on my tits.

SylvanianFamiliesNurserySet · 01/01/2019 15:30

It’s been OK so far. DD has been whining (she’s 6 and overtired) but all in all we’re holding up pretty well. STBXH and I are keeping it civil so I’m proud of us!

Dumping someone by text on 1 January after two years together is despicable. There’s never a good way to break up with someone, but there are definitely bad ways.

youarenotkiddingme · 01/01/2019 15:31

Ds and I went to local country park for train ride and walk. Then into nearby shopping centre to visit Tesco for 3 things! And a sneaky costa.

Ds then realised when we got home he'd left his coat there! Cue 45 minute round trip to retrieve it 🙄🙈🤦🏼‍♀️

Truly meant to get up at 730 to try and adjust for going back to work tomorrow, but ended up waking at 9 and staying in bed until mid morning.

Just polished off the roast and now watching Spinal Tap for the umpteenth time.

I have a sinking feeling that I’m going to sleep through my alarm clock tomorrow. I’ve packed my bag and sorted outfits etc, fingers crossed...

Littlepig8834 · 01/01/2019 18:07

Shit! Cleaned up, ironed, took decorations down and generally had a shit day.
Hoping 2019 doesn't go on as it started!!

mamaduckbone · 01/01/2019 18:16

Quite nice really.
Managed to get the teenager Ds1 willingly out for a country walk, ds2 has been building stuff with cardboard and his new glue gun all afternoon and we’ve watched lots of telly and eaten a massive lasagne and the rest of the Christmas pudding. And got the decorations down. I needed to de-Christmas.

catenthusiast · 01/01/2019 18:23

Actually quite good for saying I am still down with the lurgy (chest infection - mostly gone but still coughing and knackered). Went for a walk with DH this morning, did some bits around the house and making soup for work tomorrow. We have the M&S meal deal thing for dinner so should be a nice way to see out the festive period! Glad it's only a 3 day week for me though, I think there will be lots of coffee needed! Brew

VictoriaBun · 01/01/2019 18:29

Sorted out a big (BIG) pile of clothes on the floor of the bedroom dh I'm looking at you. Sneaked a few T-shirts I didn't like in the recycling.
Went out to get bread and milk. Watched tv and looking forward to Luther later.

Starlight90 · 01/01/2019 18:31

Shit and boring. Made plans to go to a local village. Popular place, tourist and locals love it. Just for fresh air, tea in a cafe, mooch. DH didn’t want to go even though he said yesterday “yes lets go” DS came as he needed fresh air and a break from the PS4.

Barely spoke to me in the car for some reason. Face like thunder. Kinda spoke whilst there, bought new walking shoes for DS. No place in any bloody cafe. All full up so came home. Hasn’t spoken to me fir 2 hours.

Fuckinghell he’s becoming a miserable bastard. For years the 11 yr age gap hasnt bothered me but now, i feel it. He doesn’t like going anywhere, doesn’t like lots of people, doesn’t like going for a nice walk, moans,

Boring sod.

borage13 · 01/01/2019 18:38

I'm so glad someone asked. Really, really shit actually. Started with a massive fight between me and my OH at midnight (great) and this morning more awful behaviour from him (passive aggressive sighing, projecting, really fun). My toxic parents visit to make jibes and nasty comments at me, which they have done all my life so no surprises there.

I take DS6 for a bike ride and my tyre blows three miles from home. OH not answering phone. I have to call my dad (the shame) and ask him to rescue us, which he does and I am very grateful.

Then we have a power cut.

OH, despite attempting to flounce early this morning, won't leave. I take DS ice skating. I am terrible at it and my feet hurt.

Oh and I started LL today and no drinking for Jan either.

I'm snuggled in bed with DS watching Shaun the sheep and everyone else can just fuck off :)
