DP shit talking my sister

I've been with my DP 10 months and he's just said he doesn't like my 16 year old sister and thinks she's gross and nasty. I'm very upset about this. What would you do?

He claims that my sister is always nasty to him but she never is. She makes jokes of course but that's my family, we have sarcastic jokes and he goes along with it and jokes with her too.

I don't know what to do because I really love this man but deep down he does upset me a lot. Hate being this position

I couldn't deeply love anyone like that. What's he going to do about not liking your sister.. approach her? Bend your ears about it? Bully you both?

Maybe he just isn't into the 'family' jokes. I know a family who joke and put each other down all the time. I find it juvenile and rude. Maybe he feels the same. Being horrible to and about people and dressing it up as a joke is really shitty.

Me and my sister are really close and if any guy spoke about her like shit he would be home. You are upset because you know he shouldn't speak about your family like that. If your whole family do it, why is it only your sister he's criticising and not, say, your dad? That does make me suspicious it's misogynist behaviour based on it being 'out of order' for a young woman to do this but not a man.
