Feeling smug, got up and did Park Run, then have done big downstairs clean, damp dusted, hoovered and mopped, even cleaned the French window to the garden 😀

Now sitting with dd, she is sorting a-level essays, I am prepping some eBay listings, while we watch Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth 😍😍

What's everyone else up to?

Sitting on sofa waiting as MIL cooks us all a lovely meal. I have offered to help.

(Drinking G and T)

We got up early & went for a walk. Did some laundry & now snuggled up under the blanket watching tv. Enjoying the last few ours before back to it tomorrow. Happy New Year 🎉

saj90 · 01/01/2019 14:03

So far I've eaten most of a tub of pringles Grin

JennyHolzersGhost · 01/01/2019 14:04

Staying in bed all day reading and congratulating myself on my foresight for taking tomorrow off work.

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/01/2019 14:45

Been out for a walk and now chocs & TV

Plus usual stuff like washing/hoovering

Rowgtfc72 · 01/01/2019 17:27

Working. For some reason that totally escapes me it was most important we went in at 6am and did six hours of an eight hours shift.
On the way to work I passed a man walking a border terrier, a drunk lad who threw a stone at my bike, two staggery men and three taxis!

6demandingchildren · 01/01/2019 17:29

I'm now in bed as we are in Hong Kong for new year

IndigoSpritz · 01/01/2019 17:35

I was at work from 5 a.m. to to lunchtime. This afternoon I've done very little apart from putting on a load of laundry, hanging it to dry and watching the last half hour of The Eagle Has Landed (seemingly always on TV on NYD). I did think of going for a stroll round the country park as it's been a sunny blue-sky day. I didn't though as every bugger round here has the same idea and that makes parking tricky. Off to pub soon then making a pizza when I get home.

A lazy day chilling at home with the 3 youngest dc. We had a late night last night as we were all at a party so everyone feeling a bit tired. Except eldest dd who went to the Trafford centre with her friend.

MelanieCheeks · 01/01/2019 17:40

Double parkrun, washed the dog, came up with brilliant idea for washing dog, went to shopping centre for burger king lunch and emergency tea bags, opened my Godiva advent calendar that I'd saved to cheer up January, booked flights to Paris to support a friend doing the marathon, emailed reading suggestions to DS, about to have duck breast with berry/cherry/ mulled wine sauce for dinner.

Kbear · 01/01/2019 17:43

picked DD up from a club at 4.30 am, went back to bed and got up at 11am - put the last of the decs in the loft - went to the pub for lunch with DH, DD and DS, now drinking a New Years Baileys (as I didn't drink last night just in case I had to pick DD up from the club ;) ) and now watching a movie and thinking how drab the living room looks without Christmas lights

Happy New Year everyone

MrsJayy · 01/01/2019 17:46

Dh is the last to get the lurgy poor sod sounds like he smokes 40 aday so we are not up to much just about to dish up dinner

Stompythedinosaur · 01/01/2019 17:49

We stayed at a friend's last night, so this morning we had a length breakfast while the kids played. Came home an did a treasure hunt with the kids, this is one of our traditions. Then I made homemade pizzas with dd2 and have sat on the sofa since!

Modwolvesrock · 01/01/2019 17:50

We are mourning.
Our elderly dachshund passed away yesterday, he had a pulmonary embolism Sad

Whohasnickedmyvodka · 01/01/2019 17:50

Went for a wonder in to town this morning with the kids home and took down all the decorations and tree did a big clean and moved my living room around now having a glass of wine as i havent drunk much over xmas and watching tv while my tea cooks

EffOrf · 01/01/2019 17:50

Not a lot, I took the Christmas decorations down and they are back in the attic now, watched TV, not much housework as I will do that tomorrow when DH is at work, I don’t go back until Monday as only work part time

ChristmaspArti · 01/01/2019 17:52

I've been painting the bathroom!

yogafailure · 01/01/2019 17:54

Had a traumatic Hogmanay which I've posted about elsewhere on site. DH is working, I'm making steak pie/roasties etc for all the dcs to eat. Took the dog out earlier to clear my head, put dates/shifts onto new planner calendar, hoping for a quiet night and early bed.

MadMum101 · 01/01/2019 17:59

Didn't get up til 1.30pm so very miffed that the day has been wasted. We're all up until 4.30am having a party then I couldn't sleep due to back pain and having wriggly DS (8) in our bed as we had to shuffle beds around due to relatives sleeping over.

Have tidied debris from garden, half heartedly hoovered the party popper entrails up, sat and watched a movie, eaten crumpets, smarties and drunk copious amounts of coffee. Now debating driving to get McD's for dinner, much to DS3's delight, as cba to cook and lots of bits left over from last night.

Not the blitz house, remove Xmas decs, long walk and juice diet start I planned! Try again tomorrow!

cliffdiver · 01/01/2019 18:02

We were meant to go to local attraction but DD1 started building a Lego kit and wanted to finish it. She's still in her pyjamas building it Grin only stopped for food. Still 1 1/2 bags to go and bedtime is 7pm!

DD2 and I have been playing LOL dolls / Sylvanians / reading books all day.

DH has been working.

HundredMilesAnHour · 01/01/2019 18:03

I'm away in the New Forest for a few days over New Year staying in a fabulous barn conversion in the middle of nowhere. Had a lazy morning drinking tea on the sofa then went for a long walk in the forest. Saw the (now usual) wild ponies but some deer as well. Very happy! Really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Now back 'home' with the log burner on having red wine and local cheese (with garlic and nettle). Bliss!

Tomorrow is a trip to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard then Thurs is the drive back to London and the real world. Ah yes, the real world. I remember it all too well.

Darkestnight · 01/01/2019 18:03

Been for a walk with dd and cleaned the house as I've worked all over Xmas and enjoying my few days off this week

olympic19 · 01/01/2019 18:07

Tidying up after hosting friends last night. I want to go for a brisk walk to embrace my "new year, new me" goals, but it's -16C and icy. So it might be an "eat the remaining junk and then I'll have a new me" kind of day 😄

ButtMuncher · 01/01/2019 19:58

I've felt monstrous all day after indulging too much at a party last night. Not as bad as DH, who drank half a bottle of gin Grin

We stayed over the PIL whilst my Mum had our DS, so we stayed in bed till about 11:30, surfaced for a brew and found out their milk was out of date Sad

Finally left about midday and went and bought a huge McDonald's and picked DS up, played with him off and on all day whilst we felt tired and guilty and now DS is in bed we've ordered a pizza and a vat of Pepsi Grin Thank god I'm at SW tomorrow!
