We watched the fireworks on BBC and started the New Year with family hugs - perfect.
By 1am 10yo DC2 was vomiting in a bucket. Unknown to me, 15yo DC1 had managed to hide a giant poo round the U-bend completely blocking the toilet.
I empty bucket down said toilet and flush. The water backs up to the brim...shitty, vomity water. By 1:30am, I've got the manhole covers in the garden up looking for a blockage as DC1 has not fessed up to the hidden poo. At least it wasn't raining. By 2am I am wiggling a bent coat hanger round the U-bend. Eventually clear blockage, disinfect bathroom and go to bed.
This morning, I am suffering the start signs of DC2s tummy bug.
2019 has certainly arrived in style.
Anybody else hoping the last 13 hours aren't going to set the tone for the whole year?
