We had a lovely summer holiday which actually felt like a holiday not just the same shit in a different place.

We saved a lot of money by moving to shop at Aldi.

I managed to stay alive (massive achievement).

Had two city breaks which were wonderful; not just on their merit but because I hadn't actually had a holiday for eleven years.

Youngest son getting back to good health following surgery, and looking really well after looking ill for many years, at the start of the year.

Having a week in New York, the first holiday for just the two of us since 1993 (and coming home to a very clean and tidy house despite leaving our 21 and 17 year old sons home alone).

Oldest son graduating.

Ds3 was born and I finally felt ready to leave therapy after 6 yrs! Huge achievements.

DuggeesWooOOooggle · 31/12/2018 20:51

Found a new house to buy after almost buying one that really wasn't right for us. Been looking for s year.

Got pregnant again (literally just confirmed it today) after a miscarriage in the summer. Again been trying for a year.

So both things I wanted from 2018 are finally coming to pass, albeit having taken all year!

Some lovely days out with DH and DS and despite usually hating hot weather o have really enjoyed some of the lazy days we had in the garden this year.

Congratulations on both counts Chips Smile

Managed to fix my horses major issues and didn't have to put him to sleep. He's pain free now. Smile

Also had a very nice holiday.

A short holiday abroad (city break, Air BnB) but still nice
DS passed all his exams and became happy at school
I visited, and fell in love with , the Orkney Isles(work related)
I saw Orcas in the wild!!
DD1 continued to be well, in the most part, and made progress
DD2 got engaged.
we finally managed to get a shower installed!
A lovely long hot summer

I graduated with a BA at 28 years old after a hard slog of working full time and studying in my own time.

I received my final results at midnight on a Friday and started my Masters three days later, on the Monday! BlushGrin

I had sex for the first time since 2013.

IggyAce · 31/12/2018 21:29

Like you OP a great family holiday, that was a holiday. Think it was because of dcs ages (11&7), we all enjoyed Wales that we have booked again this summer.
Great days out with friends and family.
I enjoyed celebrating a significant birthday.

CmdrIvanova · 31/12/2018 21:30

DH and I have started having sex again, which is nice. We had some lovely trips/holidays. And the staff at my local A&E are very pleasant and good at their jobs :)

ilovetocook · 31/12/2018 21:32

We were lucky enough to have 2 holidays this year. Nothing fancy but they were great. Certainly won't be managing it again for a while.

TiggeryBear · 31/12/2018 21:42

Our family is complete with the arrival of DC2 in June (5 weeks earlier than anticipated but all is well, he's now a very happy & healthy 6month old) OH completed his degree through the OU & I'm so proud of him. Getting my finances sorted & beginning to feel as though my life is heading towards being on track.
Here's to 2019 & all that it brings.
