Woke up this morning (37+1) with horrible stomach cramps. Took paracetamol but they didn't go away so went to my pregnancy assessment unit. Was monitored for 2 hours, babies heartbeat is fine and head is engaged. Midwife checked me and said I was 2cm dilated so to go home and ring when pains get worse.
I could barely walk out the hospital if felt so bad.
However I've come home and they've got better not worse.
Does that mean it was a false start?

The only thing I take to be it is the contractions bring regular. So if they're not, it's not it. Brilliant you're 2cm along though!! Good luck! Keep an eye bit don't over time things. I started paying attention around 12m apart, just to know that was the night, as such, had a shower, dinner and a rest etc.

I've just got a instant ache in my tummy and Lower back now. I'm wondering if it's definitely the start of labour?!

With my second labour my contractions kept coming and going for around 3 days but eventually properly got going . Hopefully won’t be long for you .
