My parents never do anything for new years eve and have very kindly offered to have our DC tonight so we can go somewhere (they offered and have never celebrated it so please don't say we're stopping them doing anything). We hadn't planned on being able to do anything and are now trying to think of ideas but really finding it difficult as neither of us drink.

Any ideas of things to do/events that don't involve drinking?

Cinema? A nice meal?

That's kind of your parents. 😊
Is there an outside event in your area? Torchlight procession/fireworks display? Or wrap up and walk up a hill with a flask of something warm and stargaze. Or have a meal out somewhere you couldn't go with kids.
Enjoy whatever you do. 😊
Happy New Year

One of the best New Years I had (now ex)dh and I went to a lovely restaurant. They had a tasting menu on and we rang in the New Year with a glass of Prosecco. It was a gorgeous night, really good atmosphere and exciting without being too wild.

@jellybean85 I may call a few restaurants to see if they have anything similar tonight as that sounds lovely
