Where to move to

Hi everyone , my DH has got a job offer in Kettering and I currently work in London.
Looking for somewhere to move to be convenient for travelling into London daily , we have two kids so good primary schools and a great place for families.
We currently live in South East London.
I have looked at Kettering , MH, Peterborough but the commute in London, schools for the kids , time to drop off kids before starting work is not favourable and practical.
Any advice will do as confused about where to live.

I had a look at Bedford as well, any views on there please?

Bedford is the only one I know and I would never move back. Recent visit showed a depressing number of homeless people and general grime. However, it has good transport to London and good private schools. I would want to be a closer to London so I could spend less time commuting. Could you work from home a day a week?
