Plans for NYE?

Haven’t done a lot for quite a few years now, although went to some cracking parties in the past. DH & I usually have a nice meal, maybe steak, & watch a film followed by the fireworks. DD hasn’t been that bothered before but is showing a bit more interest this year. We’ll all bond over the rabbits as they will be brought in for the night.

Just me and mu children, we'll be having a mini party. Really looking forward to it Smile

We are away in a very remote location, a big house with lots of us here.
We do it every year as we all have kids of various ages and no one wants to pay through the nose for babysitters and go out and stand 7 deep at a bar all night!
So a week away with lots of walks, pub lunches and beach play.
Tomorrow night we have a buffet, a disco,
Dancing and fireworks after midnight. The kids crash and burn when they want and when it’s all over we can walk up the stairs to bed!

We are going out with friends for a meal in a local pub and will see the New Year in there. To be honest I am happy staying in and not bothering about NYE but DH likes going out. I will be happy to see the back of 2018 to be honest. My poor mum has had a lot of health issues this year and it's been a worrying time. She has to go into hospital on 14th Jan but I'm hoping that will be the turning point and she will have a healthy 2019.

Cakeninja that sounds great! I would love to do that with my bro’s family as his kids are quite a bit older than DD but they adore each other. Could take my folks too.

Our house, 3 adults, one teen, three pre teens, 2 cats!! Add in a takeaway curry, a few cocktails, hot chocolate for the kids, a log fire and some music - we know how to live !!Grin

A few years ago on here there was a thread about Christmas traditions and someone said on NYE, they ate a meal from the country they went on their main holiday that year, we thought it sounded lovely so have nicked it as a new tradition for us, as DH hates celebrating NYE and this feels like a good compromise.

Our main holiday was in Greece this year and the local Greek restaurant has just added to deliveroo, so it's take away rather than effort, wine and watching the ABC murders we recorded.

Me, the cats, cup of tea !
