I am month 4 of 12 of SMP. I haven’t left my full time employer by have been offered a few hours a week work from home for another company. Will I be able to do it without losing my SMP?

Will it be self employed work? You are allowed 10 KIT days with your own employer. Anything outside that stops your SMP

Think this is the relevant info:

YourSMPwill stop if after the baby is born, but before the end of the Maternity Pay Period, you work for an employer who did not employ you in the qualifying week. It is your responsibility to tell the employer paying youSMPabout your new job. You must do this as soon as possible, and make sure you return anySMPpayment you get that covers the week you started work and any part of the period after you resumed work.

If you do any work in a self-employed capacity during yourMPP, then such work will not affect yourSMP.

What is your employer's policy on carrying out work for others? Many companies state that you can only carry out alternative work with the express permission of your employer/ manager.
