Sorry, meant to put a question mark in there somewhere.

I might be missing something, isn’t it that his baby was premature and had some breathing difficulties?

I can see I have misnamed him as Ewan when it's Iwan. My bad.

FannyAndMoonface · 30/12/2018 17:39

He did also post about mum doing well

FannyAndMoonface · 30/12/2018 17:40

Give the bloke a break, I can't imagine how hard it must be, I'm sure he forgot to mention his wife when writing the statement as he has other things on his mind.

NerrSnerr · 30/12/2018 17:41

Oh so he did mention her. So no problem.

GrammarTeacher · 30/12/2018 17:41

Wow! I think your reaching for offence here.

Sirzy · 30/12/2018 17:42

Some people really will look for any excuse to have a go at people won’t they.

They are going through an awful time at what should be the best time and hour looking to slag him off? Hmm

CmdrIvanova · 30/12/2018 17:42

Ffs the mans child was in intensive care and you're nitpicking? Given that the baby had come home we can assume the mother (presumably his partner but he never ever mentions his partner) is doing ok. You would think with your heartless criticising you would at least spell his name properly.

FannyAndMoonface · 30/12/2018 17:43

He's always said to the press that his partner wants privacy and to be kept (including her name) out of the spotlight. I don't think he's done anything wrong.
He's had a rollercoaster 48hours and doesn't owe the public anything, any announcement or updates. Leave him be.

TweeBee · 30/12/2018 17:43

Oh gosh, I’m sure we’ve all been guilty of forgetting to say things or making thoughtless comments when we’ve got things going on.

SlightAggrandising · 30/12/2018 17:44

@CmdrIvanova 🙄

OP posts:
GrammarTeacher · 30/12/2018 17:45

No, she has a point. You couldn't even get his name right and you're making a big deal about his statement.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 30/12/2018 17:49

Good grief, he posts about his child who is very poorly, you don’t bother to check his name (surprising considering how intently you’ve looked at his post...) then bollock him for not mentioning his wife before bothering to actually check if this is true.

Do you not have enough things to do in your life OP?

imbluedabedeba · 30/12/2018 17:53

Am I confusing I'm with someone else? I thought he was gay?

NerrSnerr · 30/12/2018 17:57

Iwan Thomas isn't gay, the only gay UK athletes I can think of are Colin Jackson and Tom Bosworth.

NerrSnerr · 30/12/2018 17:57

Unless you're thinking of Gareth Thomas the rugby player?

imbluedabedeba · 30/12/2018 19:23

Gareth Thomas! You're right I am, thank you

Consolidateyourloins · 30/12/2018 19:28

Maybe his wife/partner doesn't like to be mentioned on social media. Wind your neck in OP.

Are you my aunt, who took great offence when my mum didn’t mention my dad, passed away 10 plus years at that point, in my engagement announcement she placed in the local paper, despite me not wanting my dead dad mentioned in it, and hasn’t spoken to either of me since as a result?

If so I am truly devestated (note the sarcasim here) that you aren’t in my life.
