Suggestions/recommendations for using new slow cooker

Received a CrockPot as a Xmas gift. Please could you share very basic/simple recipes/methods for its use as I don't really have real cooking skills.

I'm just cooking for one (myself) and am out of the house 8.30am till 6.30pm if relevant.

I'd quite like to know how to make a basic beef stew with dumplings and other non complex dishes.
Thank you

Beef stew.

Cubes of beef
Onions
Veg
Seasoning
Pint of stock made with oxo

Leave in slow cooker. You could coat the beef in flour before hand to make the stock thicker or take liquid out of slow cooker when you get home, heat up and thicken with cornflour.

Same for chicken too - just use chicken oxo cubes.

Colman's also do slow cooker sachets too and are often on offer but no need really.

We also do chilli, spag Bol in our slow cooker but to be honest they don't take too long on the cooker.

There are loads of recipes online. We use our slow cooker 2/3 times a week in the winter.
