Good painkillers that don’t contain codiene? Plus experiences of FAI/Hip impingement.

I have recently discovered I have Femoracetabular Impingment in both hips and a considerable degree of rotational abnormality in my right femur, it has come about due to investigation for knee pain following training for a marathon. I never once considered that the pain in my knee would originate from my hip although having said that my right foot has always pointed out to a considerable degree. I would assume the training has accelerated the issues, however I stopped running 9 months ago on advice of consultant. I wondered if anyone has had any experience of these issues and what the outcome was?

Plus I’m in agony and I need painkillers, I will get to the gp at some point but work and kids make it difficult so if I can get some decent OTC pain killers for now then I’ll go for it, I cannot take codiene though as it doesn’t particularly agree with me, and I need to be alert for work. Does anyone have some suitable recommendations? Paracetamol and basic ibuprofen aren’t touching it.

Ask the pharmacist for his/her advice.
