Just after a few quick answers to see where I score on the old fart metre.....
If you were meeting up with friends that you see about six times a year mainly with kids but this time, no kids.
You're meeting at 1.30pm and doing drinks, an activity (lasting about an hour) and having a meal.
You have no children now until Monday early am.

Given these circumstances, what time would you be expecting to get home?

I'd be done by about 10.

Probably 10-11 depending on journey time. None of my friends are night owls.

I would be at home in my pyjamas by about 9pm.

It would depend on how the night went tbh. I have had meets like this where I have been home by tea time, I have also had meets where I didn't get home until the next day.

Play it by ear.

It depends on the friend/how are relationship is/what type of person they are.

What I mean by that is some of my friends are quite happy to have a meal and a drink or 2 and I’d expect to be home around 6/7pm. We have a chat and a nice time and then home.

Other friends I have lots of fun with (not that I don’t have fun with the others, I do - just a more sophisticated fun) and I could be out until the early hours. Meal, drinks, bars and few more drinks and a dance in a club.

^ That.

It would depend how the night went and also what the other friends had going on... if none of us had to be home early for a specific reason, then we'd probably end up making it a night out and not go home till early hours of the morning

Somewhere between 6 pm and 6 am, depending on which friends and my mood/tiredness etc.
