After a crappy year of conflict with DM, we (DH, DCs and I) have decided to go away over Christmas next year. The only problem is we don't know where to go.
Our first thought was Florida - we've been quite a lot (never over Christmas), weather is good, it's familiar, we can do our own Christmas dinner there, experience the Disney magic, etc, etc. However, we have friends there right now and the theme parks are, apparently, at their busiest. We only go in low season as we can't bear the ridiculous queues and crowds so Christmas time is out for us.
We have a large family with big age gaps (from age 6 to 21) and we need somewhere to suit us all. We want good weather with lots to do - sitting by a pool all day is not our thing.
