Suggestions for NYE

I will be on my own this NYE as i was last year. Spent last year's NYE feeling sorry for myself in front of the TV and don't want to do the same this year. Am 50 and in the Midlands but happy to travel and open to ideas. Any suggestions?

I can't help, it's usually just me and dd, the thought of her being somewhere else in a few years, and I'll be on my own as dh works every NYE.
This year we are baby sitting for older dc, is there anyone you could offer to sit for, or local party with friends.
