Waiting for kids to get ill.......

DH and I started with stomach bug on Wednesday - mainly nausea and upset tummy. DH was better within 24hrs, I'm just on the mend now. Feel like I'm sitting on a ticking timebomb waiting for the two DC to come down with it. I really can't deal with vomit Sad, feel so anxious, just sat watching for any signs of illness from them. Hoping it was food poisoning rather than a bug......

We both managed to have norovirus and not pass it on to our dd. It's easier not to when it's the adults who are ill as you're much more vigilant about hand hygiene etc whereas with children you have to help them get cleaned up and wash their hands.
Clean your bathroom, wash all the towels and clean the door handles/ banisters.

I've been bleaching everything we may have touched and only used the downstairs toilet to be ill in which we have kept locked from the outside so the kids can't get in. I would be surprised if they got ill after the hygiene measures we have put in place. How soon can I be optimistic that they will be ok?

I always think if two days clear of illness after exposure then probably ok. Sounds like you've contained it the best you could!

I was thinking two days too but won't feel safe until it's been a week I don't think.....

Oh my goodness op no, it will not take anything like a week. 3 days max. Although I believe the nastier the bug the faster it shows symptoms.

I’ve had gastroenteritis before and not passed on to DD (but I’ve done a fair bit of lab work and my infection control is well practised 😂) It sounds like you’ve done everything you could to contain it. Fingers crossed Flowers
