Dd turns 11 in Jan and I find this age so difficult to buy for.
Didn’t really have a wow present at Xmas so any ideas for her birthday please ? Tia

My is 11 in January too, her main present was a desk that she absolutely loves and also a cool lamp and bed cushions. She also loved a rock art book and acrylic markers. I got her a CD player last year so she got some CDs.... I know people have moved on CDs but we are old school 😁 so maybe something to play music? Mine is easy because she likes art so I am never stuck.

Really soft blanket ! £7 from wilkos and I bought it on a whim Xmas eve!

A sewing machine. Used loads already, but she loves making stuff.

New backpack for school

Label maker (big hit!)

Young drivers lesson? Mine had one last birthday and wants another one next birthday. It is a tricky age I agree.

Headphones and a big slouchy jumper with a hood.

My DD got a google home mini from GP’s (for her birthday just before Christmas) and it’s been a huge hit. It came with a bonus smart light globe which has been really good in her room, she just has to say “Hey google, turn the light off” when she’s ready to sleep, or “Hey google turn the light to 30%” has been good too. She has sleep issues and it’s been really good for her peace of mind Smile
It’s also good for playing music and asking silly questions Grin

Does she have any hobbies or interests you can buy for?

My 12yo DD is taking drum lessons, so we got her an electronic drum kit. She lives Harry Potter - easy to buy bits and bobs for that. She likes crafty science things, a grow-your-own crystals set was popular too. Books, reading pillow, special snacks. Primark voucher so she could choose her own things. Bath bombs, fancy face wash. She won a maaaassssiivvee teddy at the school fair which is very well loved.

They straddle the line between child and teenager at this age, it's hard if they don't have any specific interests.

BlytheSpiritsSpirit · 28/12/2018 11:28

Bluetooth enabled karaoke microphone! We had a dance party last night. ;)

implantsandaDyson · 28/12/2018 11:31

Instax mini camera and a vans Marvel backpack were the big winners here. Also Jack Wills t-shirts were a surprising success. They were a present from a relative and she's really not one for clothes but they've already been worn Shock

LonelyOversharer · 28/12/2018 11:32

My 12yo, tiny 1/24 scale kits, not quite dolls house, but she's into micro stuff, so making things from scratch has been a huge hit. It's the making rather than the playing for her. Proper tools as well, craft knife, pliers etc. That and manga drawing book/pad/art pens.

My 10.8yo, sparkly/fluffy clothes, jelly cat unicorn, replacement 3ds.

Pandora bracelet? I'm getting one for dd3 in March (when she turns 11), dd1 and 2 already have one. Plus then you can get a new charm for every b'day and christmas!

Has she a phone yet? That sorted dd1 and dd2's 11th birthdays.

Branleuse · 28/12/2018 11:33

She really liked her digital drawing tablet so she can draw straight onto the computer

flippyflapper · 28/12/2018 11:38

My dd is 12, so maybe not much help.

She loved a big snuggie I think it's called like a huge over sized warm cuddly jumper.
She also loved the hair dryer I got her (so she can leave mine alone)
Lots of bath stuff too

SenoritaViva · 28/12/2018 11:39

A smart watch and an alarm clock.

Chocolateismynemesis · 28/12/2018 11:42

Stuff for her room - cushion, nice wooden jewellery box, lumie alarm clock - all big hits

Official Harry Potter wand - several other HP items were also received but the wand was the big hit.

Beautiful dressing gown - she has barely had it off her since she opened it.

Board games - expansion pack for Splendor (her favourite board game) and Forbidden Island (which was actually a present for her brother but she loves it too)

If your DD is into art & design - check out The Extraordinaires kits - they might seem a little “young” but they are actually brilliant and to be honest I don’t think anyone much below about 10 would really get the full use of them. DD loves them - especially the building setz

KeysHairbandNotepad · 28/12/2018 11:42

My daughter just turned 12 and got a topshop hoodie , nike trainers, things from bomb cosmetics (like lush but cheaper) , a new look voucher , adidas tracksuit bottoms and a laptop. All of this went down really well.

Dontbestupidagain · 28/12/2018 11:47

A beanbag was a big hit. Trainers and a Google home mini too also went down well. She has just turned 11.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 28/12/2018 11:59

My dd is 10 so a bit younger but she loves funko pop figures, her Nintendo 2ds and Harry potter, pusheen, superheroes.

Next year we are debating getting her a nintendo switch for her birthday (would be her only gift from us and family members, no other bits to bulk it out so still unsure)

RolandDeschainsGilly · 28/12/2018 12:00

Wreck This Journal and nice pens

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 28/12/2018 12:01

We struggled for a wow present this Christmas. She loves her 13yo brother’s bloxxels kit though, as does he, and is getting one with her Christmas money.

babooshkamybush · 28/12/2018 12:04

Acoustic guitar...as long as you have thick walls or a big enough house that you don't have to listen to the twanging for hours!

hartof · 28/12/2018 12:10

Our daughter turns 11 on sunday, it's always been a struggle finding gifts straight after Christmas but it's even harder this year! We're about to move to a new house and she want's a desk and a chair but I don't want to buy anything until we're in and know how much space she has.

For Christmas she loves her new bike, lots of clothes from JD (she's a little bit of a tomboy) her aunty got her New Look vouchers which she was really excited about. Lots of Lush stuff, new games for her Switch.
