6kg hand luggage......!

I’m off to the canaries for 4 nights at the end of January and I can’t wait! I always go hand luggage only when I go away. So I was happy to book without a hold bag. But I’m checking the details I realise that this airline only allow 6kg, not the 10 I usually manage fine with! So I’m looking for some hints and tips on how to manage please....all ingenious ideas welcome! TIA

I've had my hand luggage weighed for charter flights. Buy lightest luggage. Nylon, no wheels. It weighs nothing

We got caught out by Thomas Cook on the return leg from Menorca. We'd left UK with hand luggage at 10 kgs (standard Ryanair at that time) but were turned over big time at Mahon airport. Cost nearly £30 even after all the beach towels etc were dumped.

Ok..so after factoring in the cost of a new travel bag, toiletries at the airport, beach towels when we get there and being in self catering accommodation (so not sure re hairdryer etc) we’ve decided to pay for a suitcase between us! I’m great at travelling light, ie 10kgs, but this is lots of hassle for the sake of it so I’ve made an executive decision! Thank you all for your replies though....
