Unusually, I have absolutely no idea where to go on holiday next summer. I tend to have a little bit of an idea of what I fancy by now. But I have no ideas, so drawing on the wisdom here.
Requirements:
suitable for a family (three kids, 6 and under)
Not too far away - Europe or UK preferred
Self-catering preferred
Beach type holiday isn't essential, happy to go for a city or other location. Just need plenty of ways to entertain kids.
Budget - undecided at present
Really hot weather not essential
Happy to fly, ferry or drive.
I've had a look online, but just can't find anything that leaps out at me. The "obvious" European holiday destinations (Majorca, Corfu etc) aren't appealing at the moment, and not sure the kids would be best suited to a package beach type place right now. Is there somewhere unusual or less obvious I'm missing? Recommendations for countries, regions or even specific places to stay all welcome.
(Obviously Brexit might screw up flights, ferries etc, but not planning on booking just yet. just fancy getting some ideas together.)
