House upside down drives me crazy

Does anyone else have a house upside down still. Just come down this morning to toys everywhere and bits everywhere.
I hate that cluttered feeling of stuff everywhere but know if I tidy up it will be back to the same in ten minutes .
Can't wait to get back to normal!!!

Our house is like a disaster zone! There's not one tidy room in the house at the moment. We've already bickered 3 times today.

We're still trying to unpack all the stuff we needed to take to ILs as we stayed for Christmas. I've got 5 loads of washing to do. It's 1pm and I'm still in my PJs, desperate to have a shower and wash my hair. But DP has been fannying about all morning converting our sons crib into a corned so he can finally go into his own room. My mum said she'd give us vouchers either for a meal out or to get things for the house (she asked, our request) but instead she's bought me loads of 'stuff' which I recently said we don't need so now I have to find room for everything. DS who is normally my little sidekick is just causing more mess so I feel like I can't get ahead with anything. Once DP has bloody finished, toddler can go down for a nap and I can crack on.

I haaàaaate clutter. Don't mind the tree and DS's new toys, but I just want some order in the house. I'm also pregnant and I can literally feel the hormones bouncing around in me so that's probably not helping!!

I love the tree and we are lucky enough to have two sitting rooms. I'm currently in the tidy one with the small tree with tasteful decorations. Bliss.

However, we currently have 12 people in the house. The utility room is full of washing and recycling and the ton of unnecessary food MIL took with her (she even took one of those sad slices of Christmas Cake despite knowing I make a Christmas Cake every year). The family room has all the presents strewn about PLUS the big tree (which I love and is not coming down till the new year) plus the bedding and luggage of 2 guests. The hallways is full of coats and shoes despite us having an actual cloakroom for coats and shoes. Our bedroom is full of random stuff that needs tidying. The children are sqeezed into the smallest room so there is room for all the guests.

But worst of all I came down to the kitchen early this morning and it looked like there had been a student party in there last night. I made DH get up and come and help tidy it this morning before the hordes descended. It is a tip again Sad. The guests are leaving tomorrow and I am having a major tidy. When it's just the family and the decs the house is bliss.

We've compromised for now and pushed the tree right into the corner and put the dolls house in front of it and put all the baby dolls in a big box in the hall that she can easily access (it's right beside the living room door).

Not anymore, I took the decorations down last night and have cleaned & tidied today 😊
It's like Xmas never happened

I love Christmas and the decorations but it’s a nightmare when all the presents are unwrapped and there is stuff everywhere. DS is still in that “big toy” stage too.

Took our main decs down yesterday. Not sorry Grin Left some fairy lights and smaller decs up for DC, and took the opportunity to have a good re-shuffle and move a load of furniture around. DC loved it (a career in house removals beckons...) and now it feels all fresh. More than happy for the new toys to be out and spread around while they're being played with each day, but they don't all need to be displayed like floor art the rest of the time otherwise 2019 will start with broken ankles all round from trip hazards

I've just taken two loads of bins out to the trash. One more to go (3 black bin bags of recycling). I'm doing it now. Or it'll still be here looking at me tomorrow.
