Why won't she sleep?!

My DD(3) is exhausted.
She's clumsy (one of the tell-tale signs that she needs sleep), irritable, restless and fidgety.

Do you think she'll close her eyes and go to sleep?
Nope.

I've tried everything.
Warm milk, massage, pillow spray, dark room, nightlight on, white noise.
Her room isn't too hot or cold, her bed is clean and comfy, she hasn't got a temperature.

Why won't she sleep?! Sad I'm exhausted as well and am battling to keep my eyes open so I don't spend the night in her toddler bed.
Literally fighting a losing battle.
Anyone got any tips to save my sanity?

My 7 year old is like this tonight. I blame lack of routine, too much sugar, slight boredom and post Christmas come-down. But I also think she's coming down with something as she's a bit hot and has that fierce mania kids get before a bug, My sister is here now and they've ended up sharing a bed so auntie saves the day but I think DD's still awake. She's been quite up and down today- hyper then tearful... uh oh.

I hope your DD gets to sleep soon OP.

PS could she sleep in with you tonight? At least you can lie down properly in an adult-sized bed!

@SageYourResoluteOracle I think you're right. She's been thrown out of kilter with the presents, visitors and lack of normality.
Not helped by the fact that my DGM thinks it's fabulous to fill her full to the brim with treats Angry

We've not had any tears, lots of cheekiness and talking back though (who knew a 3yo could have so much attitude?!)

I've offered her to come in to my bed. It was met with a resounding NO!
'Want to sleep in my bed, not mummy's big bed!'
Of course every other night my big bed is good enough, when she comes creeping in at 3am with her pillow and blanket to get in with me though...

I hope your DD settles soon too. Thanks
