Universal credit and property

Does anyone know, if you need to move out of the mortgaged family home and into rented, and want to claim universal credit whilst waiting for it to sell/whilst the ex lives in the house and pays the mortgage, is that possible?
We have completed the application and declared 6000-16000 savings as the equity is likely somewhere in that range but it could be less and who knows how long it will be before the house sells.

It can be disregarded as capital usually forb6 months if its on the market. Thus can be ex ten which it looked at on an individual basis so if the sale is going ahead the disregard period can be extended (not indefinitely obviously)

Thanks!
It's been on the market for a few months but they only just moved out and made the claim. Hopefully they will get 6 months from the start of the claim.
