My Christmas meat was a large chicken (I'd frozen it from fresh and defrosted prior to cooking) and a big gammon both done in slowcooker.
I made soup from the cooking liquid plus left over chicken and gammon scraps, veg and paxo stuffing leftovers. Blended, seasoned, it was lovely.
But I still have half a pan left.
Can i freeze and reheat or is that dodgy?

Yes, you’ll be fine.

I really wouldn't risk it

If you cooked from raw you can safely freeze it Smile

Normally the rule is you can refreeze once so fresh to frozen then cooked can be frozen again.

Jackshouse · 26/12/2018 18:21

I wouldn’t because the meat has been cooked and cooked and then reheated when you made soup and now you would be reheating it for a second time.

It'll be fineSmile

Angie169 · 26/12/2018 18:23

Yes it will be fine , but I would suggest that you freeze it in single portions so that when you want some you only defrost and heat what you need as once you have reheated it it must be eaten, you can not reheat it again safely

JollyAndBright · 26/12/2018 18:29

Yes it can definitely be refrozen if it had been cooked.

Brilliant - thanks everyone :)

Yes. But freeze in portions, so you are only defrosting and reheating once more.
