Anyone in Lanzarote at the moment?

Hi, we are arriving in Lanzarote for a week's holiday on Saturday, it was a surprise present given to us yesterday so am a bit shocked! Anyway, I've looked at the weather but seem to get different temps on different websites. Will it be warm enough to sunbathe/go in outdoor heated pool? Have no idea what to take (it's me, dh and two ds!)
Thanks

It should be quite pleasant but not roasting hot. So shorts and t-shirts without sweating loads. You should be able to swim, my FIL would swim in the sea there daily at this time of year. It can be windy and will get cooler in the evenings, you will need a light jacket for evenings.

Thanks, that's good to know!

What a nice surprise. Lanzarote has something of a micro-climate; you should have nicely warm and sunny days, but evenings might feel chilly. Take layers and you’ll be fine.

I was there once in February, was about 19 degrees, determined me was on beach in bikini and I still remember the older lady in full length puffy coat with gloves staring down at me from the prom, she thought me entirely mad I think 😁

Currently here now, arrived last Saturday. Been in my bikini all day by the pool. Temp has been 23/24 most days, was a little windy on Christmas Eve . Absolutely lovely here though

Beautiful sunshine

Oooh lucky you! Been a number of times at this time of year. Be prepared for showers, we spent one holiday moving in and out of the patio every half hour between showers and beautiful warm sunshine. You need layers, definitely a sweater and trousers for the evenings. I don't think I've ever swum at this time of year but I'm not a very hardy soulSmile. EnjoyEnvy

We're going on Saturday as well, OP Grin

We're taking what you'd take for an English summer holiday - so plenty of layers. Shorts, t shirts, plus long trousers, cardigans and light jackets. Hopefully it'll be warm enough to swim.

We went in may and it was bloody cold! Hope it’ll be lovely for you but do take jumpers for the evenings, it can get very windy.

Thanks all! It was a complete shock, we look in on a neighbour when her son is away (He's in the Navy), she's no bother and great company. Her son has paid for an all inclusive hotel for us for a week, so excited!

Is anything open? I always assumed it was out of season so most places were shut!?
Curious as dp wants to go away for x mas next year

Sparkletastic · 26/12/2018 18:32

I'm here. It's beautifully hot. All the restaurants and shops are doing a roaring trade here in Playa Blanca.

Sparkletastic · 26/12/2018 18:32

And there is no 'out of season' here thanks to year round sunshine.
