Aching, shivering, headache, feel yuk, anyone else?

Just came om literally last night, not a cold as such but hurts on one side of my throat, whole bodies aching. Feel shivery and veey sorry for myself. Was out today but have cancelled. Could this be flu

What are u taking? Im on paracetomol and sipping water. Lying in bed.

Is this flu? I font have a cold as such

Some sort of virus but prob too early to say if flu. Take paracetamol & lots of water & have a duvet day & nap if you can.

Nose is feeling a little bunged up now. DH and DS are going out till about 7pm so house will be quiet

Me. Last 2 days in bed. Christmas has been shit. Eaten 2 bananas and half a tangerine since Christmas eve afternoon. My throat is on fire. Shivers, phlegm, tearful, restless. so been to out if hours only for the doctor to say my chest is clear and its just laryngitis. Just? I could have swung for him if i had the energy.

Yes also feel restless, really unsettled. Hot then cold, want to sleep but cant etc... ahhhhhhhhhh

Me too. Raw throat, headache, hacking cough, totally whacked after doing anything and just need to sit down.
Off into London tomorrow for a posh lunch (The feckin Ivy no less) and to see a show. Need to be better, but feelin anxious about it already.

Its terrible. Rest, plenty of ibuprofen and paracetamol. Hot water bottle and Christmas movies.

DD and I have had similar. I think it could be flu. High temperature, shivering to the point of teeth chattering, no appetite, no energy, too woozy to be up and about. DD is on day 7 now, me day 6 and although our temperatures are back to normal we're still both quite unwell with residual breathing/coughing issues so I'm afraid you could be in for the long haul.

You can combine ibuprofen with paracetamol safely which means that while waiting for your next 4 hourly dose of paracetamol you can intersperse ibuprofen so that the wait for the next set of painkillers/fever reducer isn't so long.

Ibuprofen seems more effective at bringing temperatures down.

Me too. DH came down with it a few days before Christmas and me and DD on Christmas Day. Had to cancel my parents coming for lunch. Managed to make lunch with the 4 of us all pitching in but only ate a mouthful of turkey and 3 sprouts. Been in bed until now.

Gutted. DD hasn’t been home for this long since last Christmas and she’s so poorly. She’s been quite ill lately too so this is the last thing she needs.

DD and me as well, nearly two weeks in now, so much better than we were, but still not right. There are some horrible viruses going around.

So have woke up this morning, no cold still but hurts on one side of my throat and back aches abit...just feel abit iffy. Really strange as I thought it would develop into full blown flu

Yep, I have my annual virus. Restless, crap sleep, sore, fever, chills, nausea. Yesterday I was crying with kidney pain and assumed it was an infection but that seems to have passed and now it’s back to feeling like a general virus.

Yes my aching has started to ease, and not feeling as yuky but not 100% ... got electrical probs in house so it's taking my mind off it all!!!!

Yes me felt iffy on tuesday rank yesterday couldn't move off the sofa, today my voice has gone and i feel cold/hot... it is very odd . Weare meantto be going away onSaturday for new year and dh is at the rank stage today Xmas Envy

Well I slept in my own bed last night! Its been the sofa for the past 3 nights. And had a really goid night. Voice croaky, but still no real cough. My chest is really tight although the dic saud no infection. That doesn’t mean there won’t be so ill see hiw i am over the weekend. Took the kids to the shops earlier for an hour and id had enough.

Went to tesco to get a medicine. Lemsip stuff all in one. Fuck me its vile. Cant take the stuff🤢

Made soup, twas ok, now resting, movie, tea. All of us going shopping tomorrow so i have to be ok. Kids have had a miserable 3 days as it is with me laid up so we ARE going, arned with tissues and paracetamol!

And next year im buying a Flu jab!

I’ve got it too. Spent all day in bed and couldn’t even get up for toilet. Hacking cough, shivers, temp and awful headache.
It’s my moms birthday tomorrow and I really want to see her as her husband died suddenly in an accident this month. I need to take her to funeral directors too but obviously can’t risk giving her this.

Im abit worried as 1 gland is swollen and Im imagining allsorts, look very pale and feel strange...no cold or cough

Had a version of this with the cough thrown in. After nine days crawled to GP as the fever bit had let up. Antibiotics because the chest infection had set in.
