Any German/Austrians here?

DD cried earlier as as she apparently wanted something quite specific to German/Austrian cooking in her stocking and not being a mind reader it didn't happen 🙄😔

The very little savoury profiterole type things that go in clear chicken soup. They are a bit smaller than marbles. What the hell are they actually called and can I get them anywhere in the UK???!

Matzo balls? I think they’re Jewish rather than German though.

Maultaschen. But it's more like big ravioli that goes in clear soup.

Griessnockerlsuppe?

I think you make them with semolina.

I have just showed her Maultaschen, and she has also had those in clear soup, but didn't like them as much.

Now I know what to ask for, I can search properly. My google searches were not coming up with anything 😆

Thank you.

@SmilingButClueless Thank you!!! Yes!!!!

My eldest has just looked over my shoulder and squealed too.

They both love those things in clear soup.

Thank you. I can do a New Year thing hopefully.

I doubt very much you can buy them in the UK, but they are just fried pasta. Make a pasta dough with eggs and flour, roll it out, cut it into little bits and deep fry them.

You can get them on Amazon. Grin

Dammit dammit dammit

@kalinkafoxtrot45 I didn't see your reply before I ordered some 🙈

Never mind; I added some extras into the German deli order so hopefully it'll be worth it, but Amazon would have been easier.

Thank you anyway!
