So have we got the Xmas product review thread yet?

We had Xmas courteousy of Morrison's this year.

All but 2 products available at a very short notice Saturday before Xmas time slot which was very surprising but obviously very handy.

Turkey crown- usually go for fancy butcher organic one so this is first year using a supermarket one. Not the most flavourful turkey. However it didn't dry out and cooked in the time specified. Plenty left for left overs too.

Pigs in blankets- a little on the greasy side but tasty enough

Pork and chestnut stuffing- didn't like it. But personal taste . there wasnt anything wrong with it.

Pork and cranberry stufffing- I'm usually sceptical about fruit and meat but this was nice.

Stuff all had a sensible date on as well.

Veg was also nice. No nasty rotten ones hiding in the packets.

Not the fanciest of fooď but all did what it said on the tin. Was easily available and delivered on time .

Only thing that let me down was the Sainsbury potatoes. They were the unfortunate batch that when you par boil turn to mush as soon as you blink. But managed to salvage enough for the roasties

All in all I'll say I'll give it about a 7.

We had party food from m&s.
Mini beef wellingtons were nice.
Pies were maybe just more than okay, spring rolls were same. Chicken on a stick was good.
Beef in Yorkshire puds, hog roast sliders, vol au vents, and mini sausage roll/scotch egg selection were all a bit shit.
It cost around £60 and was not worth it at all! We do have some left over but I think next time we will go to Costco.

Have yet to sample the party food stuff. I'm too unsociable these days GrinBlush

It all looks and sounds so nice it always so worried about it being a let down

@hidinginthenightgarden agree about the beef in Yorkshire puds. Had them with our dinner and I wasn’t keen.

We had the 3 bird roast from Asda. It was nice enough. Couldn’t really enjoy it as I had a newborn glued to my boob so had to eat one handed on the sofa.

Party food by Tesco - the garlic mushrooms were lovely! So where the cheesy pepper bites (Taste like pizza). Wasn’t so keen on the sticky chicken skewers, looked and tasted like fatty duck! I checked the box twice to ensure they were chicken. I’d give the whole experience 7/10

Morrisons for Xmas dinner. The turkey was nice, wasn’t too dry and flavour was ok. Pigs in blankets were awful, even the pib loving kids moaned they tasted ‘funny’. The stuffing was flavourless but the turkey gravy was nice.
