What's the best way to help people living on the streets?

DM can't help but give them cash every time we walk by, I can't help but think there's a better way but other than donating to crisis I'm not sure. Any advice?

Buy them a hot drink and a sandwich, biscuits, cake, gloves, socks, a scarf, give women women sanitary products, donate to local homeless charities, help out at a homeless shelter, crisis at Christmas.

The very best way is to donate to local grass roots charities and outreach teams - they will know who is genuine and who isn't and the money will be best spent on helping them appropriately

I work with the homeless, a lot that you see on the street aren't homeless, they just sit out until they have enough money to score their drugs
