Just woke up as husband was coming back to bed and he declared 'turkeys in the oven, cats been fed and had tablets, go back to sleep for a while'. He's a keeper ❤️

Merry Christmas from me! Just got up, it's just me and DP, so going to open a couple of token gifts and then get ready to volunteer at a lunch for people who find themselves alone at Christmas. Best wishes to you all

Merry Christmas everyone! Nearly 7pm here so just about all done and dusted now. Presents opened, chocolates eaten, lunch cooked and eaten, house tidied up a bit. Hiding in the air con bedroom to cool down a bit before having dinner on the verandah.

It is 8.04 here and we have a very excited 89 year old sitting amongst piles of used wrapping paper!
She is beaming - which may be in part to the glass of champagne she has just glugged down 😂😂😂

I’ve just been woken by the baby needing a feed but DS(2) who never sleeps through is still asleep and has been pretty much (he settled himself once) since the first wake up at 11pm - it’s a Christmas miracle!!

Merry Christmas all. Everyone is still in bed, so I'm having a peaceful brew by myself. Ham cooked over night in the slow cooker and just binged the turkey crown in.

Was woken at 4 by one of the cats shouting because she was cold, bored or hungry. She’s now fast asleep on my knee. The other cat is looking at her with disgust.

My actual children have been warned if they’re not up by 12 I’m waking them. Bloody nocturnal cave dwellers!
Turkey going in shortly, I’ll wake DH up with a cup of tea at 9.

Was a relatively early one for me as DH has a nasty, hacking cough that he kept us both awake with most of the night. He eventually went downstairs but by 7am I was wide awake so gave up and came downstairs. Kitchen is clean, kids are asleep, DH is dozing on the sofa, next door neighbour is doing the Christmas dinner this year, so just hanging about until the sons (22 and 15) wake up.

Merry Christmas all! Been up since 7 and have helped the baby open a few presents. She has so much more than I and DH combined (first grandchild on both sides). We have given up slogging through the pile for now and will revisit unwrapping later.
