Help! Ds5 is waking up every time I try to Santa!

He was asleep by 8. I prepped stockings and went to check at 10.30. He woke up. Left it till 11. Same. 12 midnight, woke again. Santa is tired. Any tips?

Leave the stocking outside his door

Leave it outside his bedroom door.
Next year have them in the hall, next to the front door!

No I'm the same. Just had 2 failed attempts here, creaky bloody floor and the bastard stocking doesn't fit over the end of the bed gahh.

Santa didn't wNt to go in because he looked like he was waking up. Stocking on door handle, instead.

If you have done the elf thing, possibly have him with his hands on it for added reality

Tempted to leave it outside the door, but he shares a room with ds6 so they wouldn’t know whose was whose.

That was where you went wrong, you should have given them their own stockings to hang on their doors as they went to bed.

Just put notes or gift tags on.
If he is waking so easily I would be worried that he would wake up, open his stocking and be too excited to go back off to sleep. All at 3 in the morning!

Sorry no tips but if it helps I spent a few panicked minutes hiding behind the ds bathroom door as if made it up the stairs and ds2 had stirred so I hid until I was sure they were asleep

Confusingly I Did a while polar express thing which resulted in earlier while they were asleep sprinkling fake snow over their dressing gown and slippers which would have confused the he'll out of them if they'd believed they went in the polar express but Santa hadn't arrived.
Fortunately ds2 snoozer off and DP looked bemused after I emerged explaining ms Santa had hidden on the ds bathroom lol

I've been trying to Santa for the past 2 hours..!! Hanging around outside my DD's room like a weirdo trying to memorise which floorboards creak..!! She's turned into an all hearing Ninja..!!!!! I swear she can hear me breathing on the other side of the door.. I'm about a minute away from saying fuck it and leaving the bastard stocking in the bathroom, Santa obvs needed to pee on his way round tonight..!! 😊

I got caught red-handed by DS1. Crept in at midnight and just as I reached for the stocking he sat up and said 'Hello mum!'

Tbf he is nearly 12 and hasn't believed in years, but it's been an annual challenge for me to sneak the stocking in without being caught Grin

Yep in the same boat here. DH and I waiting for DD to go back to sleep to do stockings. Next year the stockings go downstairs. We're so tired.....

What time do they usually get up? Can you go to bed and set am alarm for 5 or 6 and put stockings out? X

On a normal day, ds6 wakes at 5-5.30. This morning he woke at 2.35 Confused

Ha ha - mine are grown up now but i remember the worst ever was when my eldest was 5, we still call him bat ears. It was midnight and he had finally dropped off so i nipped into his room and did Santa. Went to my bed and he woke up immediately and i had to pretend he had woken me and express shock Santa had only waited till midnight.

I'll never forget the year ds was 6, he would not sleep just constantly waking. By 2am I was losing plot as shattered so he ended up in our bed with dh and I spent the night in his mid sleeper! Think we got 3 hrs sleep and I was struggling not to fall asleep on chair after lunch in front of in laws.
