Im up at 530 thought id cheer myself up and wear a new sparkly Mac lipstick and put my reindeer ears on. Im taking in a fruit salad, someone else is making noodles, another a bryani and another a thai curry, he beauty if nusing in London is that every celebration is like a food trip around the continents and everyone is fiercly competitive except me who runs into M and S last minute.

Heres to you all. I’m having a large Rioja then im going to get my cat in and go to bed. Hope everyones work day is as peaceful as it can be x

I worked a shift this morning. The manager cuts the shift up into shorter blocks today so not tooooo bad. People still need the services of theNHS.

Home now drinking g&t. Gin Xmas Smile

Working tomorrow (long shift) in paeds. Had a nice day today, but Boxing Day has always been my favourite...I love eating the leftovers and just chilling. I managed to over order the cheese, so I might make up a cheese board to take with me tomorrow and we can all have a pick. Fingers crossed we aren’t too busy, I know we are quite short staffed, but let’s face it...the kids and their parents want to be in hospital even less!

Merry Christmas! Xmas Smile

Me - I’m on nights all week although days over New Years thankfully so I don’t feel like I’ve drawn the short straw!

I don’t mind too much, no kids in my family so we’re doing Christmas on Saturday. I do feel a little odd as it’s my first Christmas completely on my own apart from work but it’s okay.

U2HasTheEdge · 25/12/2018 16:38

Not tomorrow thankfully, but just got back from working today. Managed to get about three hours sleep last night so I am exhausted. Looking very forward to tomorrow.

Hope all of you working tomorrow have decent shifts.

Work was alright today, I’m on a mental health ward for older people so we were quite low key😁 No emergencies which is always nice.

We did split the long shifts, I think it’s better. It’s a hard sell to expect people to do 12.5 hours on Christmas Day. I did the late which is th most unwanted shift but I left at 7:30pm and was drinking wine by 8 so can’t complain.

Back for the rest of the week and off the weekend.

Our poor Dr is the only one working in the almost 60 bedded unit and is working 12 hour shifts Monday until Friday. That’s a bit shit!

I'm NHS Ambulance crew working whole of Christmas period. Combination of day/night shifts. (12hr shifts as a minimum and a 30 min meal break).

As an aside, please only call for an ambulance if it's an actual emergency and not because you have stubbed your toe (Yes, people do!)

DH and kids were amazing and they had a chillout day together. Dinner was waiting for me when I walked in the door this evening. Felt blessed. Now stuffed and back in bed ready to go again at 0500 x
