I'd like a round of applause, but DH is refusing to acknowledge my great skill.

Congratulations! I've cheated and wrapped a scooter in its box Grin

Knittedfairies · 24/12/2018 21:35

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

BikeRunSki · 24/12/2018 21:37

I wrapped 2 bicycles 2 years ago. I got some big bags for the very purpose from Halfords.

MrsTerryPratcett · 24/12/2018 21:38

Picture or it didn't happen. Grin

FamilyOhNo · 24/12/2018 21:39

Seeing as you clearly have superior experience of wrapping bikes

Can you come to me right now and wrap the one here please !!!!!

KatyMac · 24/12/2018 21:41

I haven't wrapped DH's; it's a bit big

But my brother is putting it on the deck for when we arrive with a big bow on it!

SpoonBlender · 24/12/2018 21:41

Above and beyond the call of duty! The classic is to toss them in the shed/garage and then get the kid/s to go and fetch something from there.

Owletty · 24/12/2018 21:43

Another one here who's wrapped a scooter in a box

HippoLatte · 24/12/2018 21:48

I'm wrapping a bike and a dolls house which has been a bastard to build and is about 4 foot tall.

abbsisspartacus · 24/12/2018 21:52

I've wrapped feck all the kids are still awake I'm sick I'm tired and they can't sleep

sirmione16 · 24/12/2018 21:53

Posted this on a different Xmas thread but my parents wrapped a bike up for me one year and I heard the little bell ring - 7 year old me was convinced it was reindeers! Even when I was old enough to know Santa wasn't real, it kept that doubt in my mind because I was SO convinced I'd heard the bells. Only in my teens I overheard my mum telling people how cute it was in the morning when I told her I heard him did it all make sense!!

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 24/12/2018 21:54

Wow well done OP Xmas Grin
pictures please

Shahlalala · 24/12/2018 21:57

Oh no, I haven’t wrapped DD’s bike, just a bow. Should I get wrapping now?!

babysharkah · 24/12/2018 21:58

I bought two massive Father Christmas balloons when we bought dts bikes. Saved a lot of pain. Respect op!

Blueberryblueberry · 24/12/2018 22:00

Another one here with a scooter in a box. Well done op! I'm a bit worried DD is so expecting her scooter she'll be disappointed not to see it straight away and won't realise it's I'm a box?? Am not second guessing myself and wondering if I should have put it together and propped it up Hmm but am at dm's for xmas and don't have the Santa wrapping paper here... Will just drink more prosecco...

KiteMarked · 24/12/2018 22:00

I need to wrap a drum set in a little while.....

Bittermints · 24/12/2018 22:03

Xmas Grin KiteMarked

GlowWine · 24/12/2018 22:07

Respect. I always chickened out and things like that (bike, scooter, dolls house) were wrapped in a christmassy fleece acquired for the occasion (we've still got them now)

@Shahlalala a bow is just perfect!

user1471530109 · 24/12/2018 22:13

DD (5) new bike is in the back garden...under the parasol from the pub. Now I realise how that sounds...it's a long long story...
I haven't wrapped it! I haven't got the paper or the stamina tbh. I'm bloody exhausted. Eldest DD (9) is still awake and I've got to assemble everything. Some of it is in the bloody car! It was easier when they were younger!

AGHHHH · 24/12/2018 22:21

I can't even wrap regular boxes.

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 24/12/2018 22:24

How?!

I've got to put together a Hotwheels mega garage thing, with no instructions. Drunk.

Notreallyhere23 · 24/12/2018 22:30

Well done.

Dh had that task a couple of years ago and the second we walked into the living room on Christmas morning ds just deadpannedly said ‘that’s a bike’.

Wasn’t one of the most special unwrapping we’ve had!

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 24/12/2018 22:34

Sorry, but you've blown your cover. You're really that wrapping elf from Arthur Christmas masquerading as a Mumsnetter, aren't you?

Gagglegeese · 25/12/2018 00:04

During my trip to the bike shop for my DD bday I discoverd ...... Giant gift bags that cover bikes 😂
