DS’ most requested Christmas is lost agh

Long story but it got hidden somewhere in the house (not by me Hmm) and now it can’t be found. One of us has looked but seems relaxed. The other one is making lists of places to look properly in the morning and thinking about from where a replacement might be sourced tomorrow.

DS is going to be so upset if he doesn’t get the only thing he actually asked for Sad. It wasn’t hugely expensive and he’s getting lots else, but still.

Ok, so you know it’s in the house.

Check one room at a time, every inch of it. Behind drawers, under beds, take the actual drawers out of units to check it’s not fallen.

Do you have a loft? Could it be there? Did it definitely come in to the house, not left in the car boot or garage/shed?

If it’s in the house you’ll find it.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 23/12/2018 22:29

Could your DS have found it?

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 23/12/2018 22:32

Ok places I have found things tops of wardrobes under beds in the utility room in the medicine box in the play room on top of a unit in a carrier bag. Good luck!

homebirds · 23/12/2018 22:33

Can you do prime now? Did you definitely have it? I thought something had been delivered but when I spoke to Amazon it had been lost!

Youcancallmeval · 23/12/2018 22:36

My weird hiding spaces were: in a suitcase and in my knicker drawer.

DamsonWhine · 23/12/2018 22:38

Biff and Grow we have three storeys, two lofts, a garage, numerous built in cupboards Confused. It will be there somewhere and I have made a top to bottom searching list for the morning. But you know what it’s like when you’re actively searching for something.

I can remember seeing it but only fleetingly. DH bought and I’m not entirely sure he didn’t take it back to the shop. But I’m sure we agreed DS would get it for Christmas instead.

Buggeration.

Aw shit. I bought DH a custom made gift one year then couldn't find it.

Three years and a house move later, I can only assume I somehow binned it. Wasn't expensive but still pisses me off.

Really hope you find it. Try and remember where you were when you opened it/took it out of the bag

Onemorefireball · 23/12/2018 23:13

Why would he have taken it back to the shop?

How big is it?

DamsonWhine · 24/12/2018 05:30

One because it’s a transformer and DS got a similar, but different one for his birthday. DH has been having a bit of a brain freeze recently and stuff like this has been happening - misunderstandings and miscommunications.

Buy another, look again after Christmas when you're less stressed, and return the 'old' one to the shop where you bought the new one for a refund when you find it?

DamsonWhine · 24/12/2018 07:56

THats what we’ll have to do. What a pain though and it’s takes DH out of action at home when I need to be getting on with other things.

We hide things in the car. Looked there?

Troels · 24/12/2018 07:58

Pity it's his main present. I'm famous for finding missed presents on boxing day. My boys apparently used to try and guess who's it was this year when they were little.

DamsonWhine · 24/12/2018 15:16

We’ve just about managed to get a replacement although it’s not as good. DH has informed me that he thinks he might have returned it after all Hmm
