High pitched squealing from the bathroom. DS 9 bounds down the stairs saying there were small white worm like things moving in his poo.

Sadly he flushed so I didn't get to inspect the evidence myself, however, I showed him an image of them and he was adamant they were what was in his poo.

Bloody marvelous 😫😫

Get to the chemist of Boots tomorrow and there is something cant think of the name but you drink a tiny cupfull and it kills them within 24hours. You will all need it though

flowerpot1000000 · 23/12/2018 21:33

My DS had them and at night his botyom was really itchy apparently they come out at night!!

PerspicaciaTick · 23/12/2018 21:35

Get Ovex from the pharmacy tomorrow morning, dose asap and he should be fine. It is only worms, not a drama.

dementedpixie · 23/12/2018 21:35

Ovex for all of you. Takes a few days to kill them

WhoKnewBeefStew · 23/12/2018 21:36

Chemist and tablets for the whole family. Change the beds and make sure everyone washes hands after going to the loo. Easily got rid of.

xTinkerhellx · 23/12/2018 21:39

Mine had it recently. Bought some liquid from the pharmacy and honestly it worked almost instantly on her.

Stripped and washed her bedding and her mountain of soft toys that live on her bed, used antibacterial gel for a few days after she had been to the toilet and before she ate and never saw them again.

SheWhoDaresGins2 · 23/12/2018 21:43

I know it's not really a massive drama but stuff like this freaks me out also DS has ADHD and ASD so he is equally freaking out.

My son has these last week. Do as others have said above and to stop the itching at night, Vaseline all over the bumhole (🙈), stops the buggers coming out and suffocates then. Only way my son could get any sleep!

Good luck x

babysharkah · 23/12/2018 21:45

We've got nits. Well we did until this morning anyway. Honestly, I'd rather have the threadworms!

thefleurdelis · 23/12/2018 21:46

Do not google- do not! Worms are one of those things that bring out the loons. People get very paranoid and get phantom itches.

Ovex for the whole family.
Hot wash bedding
Pants and pj bottoms on in bed
Wash bottoms in the morning and hot wash towels and flannels every day for a couple of days.
Ovex takes a few days to work
Annoying but not the end to f the world

thefleurdelis · 23/12/2018 21:49

If the itching is bad at night you can wipe them off his botty.
If he hasn’t been that itchy then he may have a small enough infestation that you can ‘catch’ the ones that come out at night to allow him to sleep.

TheBigFatMermaid · 23/12/2018 21:57

Well, for a start, you need to calm the fuck down, you over dramatising it will not help your DS! Get your (probably worm riddled) arse to a chemist in the morning, to get treatment for everyone! Then strip the beds and all underwear and boil wash it and any towels. Done!

By Christmas morning it will all be a bad memory!

Guiltyworkingmumoftwo · 23/12/2018 21:57

OP I share your pain, both our girls have them. In fact think DD2 (5) has had them for weeks and has been misdiagnosed.
Finally spotted a couple last night and everyone has had OVex and all bedding towels etc washed and have hoovered beds and floors. Checked DD1 (7) earlier and she also has them!!!
I'm completely freaked out and need to stop looking on the internet!! Want them gone !!!!

SheWhoDaresGins2 · 23/12/2018 22:06

@TheBigFatMermaid thanks for the virtual face slap. I needed it Xmas Grin I'm working 13 hours tomorrow so will have to rely on his Dad taking control of all of the deep cleaning

I know it's only worms and not the end of the world but stuff like this weirds me out. I'm inwardly freaking out and I have stopped googling images as I think they were fuelling the fire.

Xmas Grin

I had them for ages as a teenager as I was too embarrassed to tell my mum (idiot). Got a bout of food poisoning and that got rid of them, dunno how.
