"The Holiday" film - drunken drivers!

Watching just now on Netflix.

Not watched it since it was first released. Only now noticing the drunk driving and getting annoyed.

I'm so far up to the bit where Amanda meets the daughters.

When Amanda first arrived in England, and drove into town for booze and snacks, did she drive back to Rosehill Cottage?

After Jack Black's character leaves the Hannukah night at Iris's, where he drank lots of wine, he blatantly made his way into his car and Iris gleefully waved him off!

Otherwise ... loving it.

I'm just watching it now. Why is Cameron Diaz guzzling wine in the shop? You do that in my local Asda and you get thrown out.

Jude law is peak Jude Law

Did wonder that myself rewatching it the other night!
Also Hugh Grant smoking in About A Boy. Did not realise these films were quite as old as they were!

The bit where Diaz punches her boyfriend in the face annoyed me the other day. Why is that acceptable?

I notice that in Frasier. They cane wine/sherry then drive.

Watched this last night and thought the same!

Also, Jack Black's character acting like the victim when he discovers his girlfriend cheating on him.

He was cheating on her with Iris before he found out IMO. Flirting and very emotionally involved.

Otherwise ... still loving it. But desperately needing a wee. Didn't realise it was 2 hrs long!

I think the bit where Cameron Diaz punches her boyfriend very hard in the face (twice) is worse than that. Are we supposed to be cheering on/laughing at a woman who violently assaults her partner?
