Fucking ParentPay

Every single holidays - 'you have a low valve of bla bla bla'. I wouldn't mind if it was a time that mattered but I had an email about twice a week over the summer and couldn't block as I need to know the rest of the time.

I know IABU but gets on my fucking nerves.

Do you mean ParentPay constantly emails you to say you have a low balance during the holidays when it doesn't matter? Ours is the opposite, never tells us when we need to top up then we get a letter saying we owe money...

PhannyMcNee · 23/12/2018 19:09

I have the same problem as TooMinty to be honest. I could do with a low balance reminder!

TooMinty · 23/12/2018 19:13

Waiting for someone to come on this thread and teach me how to turn on/off the alerts!

RitaTheBeater · 23/12/2018 19:16

You must be able to opt in or out of it as I don’t get reminders

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 23/12/2018 19:17

My ds just tells me when he needs more money on it- can’t yours do that too and turn off the emails?

SouthwarkSkaters · 23/12/2018 19:22

Yes, Spag, over summer I topped it up just to stop the reminders.

You can turn them on and off but I’d probably forget to turn them back on Blush.

For anyone wanting to turn them on (if their school offer it, parentpay says not available for everyone), go to communications > alert settings and tick what alerts you’d like to receive.

EggysMom · 23/12/2018 19:29

Mine only tells me when we go negative: fortunately it's a special school and I know they'll feed our son that day regardless! I generally log in and top up again quickly before school get round to the annoying letter.

PhannyMcNee · 23/12/2018 19:31

All set up, thank you SouthwarkSkaters.

Sorry not to be sympathetic Spagyetti but I think I might find the emails less hassle than the grumpy starving teen or the shame letter from school telling me I owe them a day's dinner money Blush

TooMinty · 23/12/2018 20:06

Thanks Southwark!

But all this time they are earning interest on our cash (not much admittedly).

Oh I hadn’t thought about that (but I only put one meal’s worth so not sure they’re getting much interest from me! Grin)

JustMarriedAndLovingIt · 24/12/2018 09:07

I always forget the password! Refuse to put on more than £10 at a time though as DS would go mad and gorge his way through half the canteen in 3 days! Grin

PhannyMcNee · 24/12/2018 09:59

Good point well made Spagyetti and I am very grateful for you for raising the irritating reminder as a possibility. Currently I still think YABU but my mid August I may well be agreeing with you WinkGrin

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 24/12/2018 10:00

I don’t get emails. Never have. Can you opt out and just check the balance yourself?
