I know NYR are usually never met (diet and so on lol), but just interested to hear what other things have you got planned out for 2019? This is my list so far:

  • Complete Maths and English Courses
  • Enrol into BTEC course
  • Use less technology (phone)
  • Go out more with DS
  • Write things I am grateful for every day
  • Change lifestyle and eat healthily again
  • Save money

Can't think of anything else ATM. What about you? Xmas Smile

  • To change my career. The kids are teens now and it's time to do something for me not just something to fit around them.
  • To improve my health. I'm in the obese category but I'm quite happy with the way I look. Just want to improve my diet. More veg and less junk.
  • Start parkrun. Dd wants to do it as part of her D of E and I like running. I just need to up my fitness as it's not so great right now!
  • Spend less time on my phone and more reading and sewing - two hobbies I love but rarely do due to technology addiction. I know it's just a habit I need to get out of.
  • Listen to more podcasts. I just started getting into this. Much more interesting than listening to the same music on the radio day in and day out!
  • Try to get finances in order! It's all ok but a bit too much debt right now.
  • Spend more time in London. I live close and love it but up until earlier this year hardly went up at all. Have done much more this year and want to continue that. So much to see and do!
  • Keep encouraging the DC to try new things.

Be on my phone less.

1000km in 2019 (in combo of running/swimming/cycling)
Be a better vegan and stop eating things like oreos just because they are vegan
Find someone to have sex with and preferably a relationship
Make some friends
Finish my qualification and choose another one
Go surfing and swimming in the sea more
Maybe decide what I want to do with my life (this one may be the trickiest but am hoping it will be revealed to me!)
Continue to reduce my plastic use
Walk and cycle to work rather than drive

Lose 17 kgs
Drink more water...less wine
Use my phone less and read more books
Do my best to get dh and the dcs on board with decluttering (without nagging)
Prioritise myself more and just have more fun in life.
Good luck to everyone!

Buy less stuff
Eat less stuff
Get my work life sorted out
Get my house sorted out

Piece of cake Hmm

WhenLifeGivesYouLemonsx · 26/12/2018 22:06

I'm loving all of your goals and ideas so far everyone! Really makes me feel motivated to change.

Another few things I want to do as well is start decluttering my flat and organising my life. At the moment I just feel overwhelmed and cluttered! I think if everything has its own place, it'll be a lot easier to find my way around it without stressing that I can't find what I'm looking for because I've misplaced it lol.

I need to detach a bit from my toxic parents and focus on my lovely DP who supports me and just wants me to be happy, with no strings attached to that.

Put more effort in to learning DPs native language so that I can spend more time with his family comfortably.

Put myself first a bit more often and focus on asking for help when I need it.

amysaurus87 · 27/12/2018 09:26

I've got a few more things I want to do as well, I want to stand up for myself more especially when it comes to my little boy. Christmas has been a real eye opener for me and has put some things into perspective. So I'm going to work on being more forceful when it comes to my little boys routine, which has gone out the window the last 3 days and we are now paying the price for that!

TheMythicalChicken · 27/12/2018 09:29

Can't wait to be a serene chilled out goddess, wafting round in a sea of chill.

Ooh, I like the sound of that!

cousineddie · 27/12/2018 09:31

I came out as a lesbian in July this year after knowing for ten years and keeping it quiet ... I’m going to make 2019 the year that I’m not scared or guilty or embarrassed to be who I am .

cousineddie · 27/12/2018 09:32

I’ve also got to lose about ten stone ... but going to have to do that gradually I think !

AwdBovril · 27/12/2018 09:42

I'm going to (try to) do the 1000k thing.
Definitely going to eat better. More veg, less crap, less generally.
Going to continue going swimming - last week I went for the first time in about a decade.
Go to the gym when I can, I've even got DH to go sometimes (minor miracle!)
Use my diary every day for appointments, library due dates etc - my memory is shocking & I want to stop paying overdue fines.
Get back to sewing or knitting in the evenings when DD is in bed. I play on my tablet far too much these days.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/12/2018 09:49

I try not to set fixed goals so if I can't or decide not to do them I don't feel bad! I also do really little achievable ones to make me feel like I'm doing ok. Grin

So for me,

little ones

Book my smear test in Jan (not put it off!)

Buy appropriate glasses for my various drinks.

medium ones

Open another bank account and stream line my finances.
Eat cleaner
Get out the house every day (even if it's the garden!)

Bigger ones

Enrol to do my English and match's GCSE in a view to do my access to nursing in 2020.

Speak to my boss about getting a healthier work:life balance.
