I know NYR are usually never met (diet and so on lol), but just interested to hear what other things have you got planned out for 2019? This is my list so far:

  • Complete Maths and English Courses
  • Enrol into BTEC course
  • Use less technology (phone)
  • Go out more with DS
  • Write things I am grateful for every day
  • Change lifestyle and eat healthily again
  • Save money

Can't think of anything else ATM. What about you? Xmas Smile

Start a second business( I’m terrified)
Get back into running.
Start doing a nightly skincare routine and especially taking care of my hands I read a comment on here and it said about hands aging showing your age and I thought god that’s so true I ignore mine.
Start studying for a different career path it’s ambitious but it’s worth a try.
Also try and be spontaneous.
Anxiety makes me want the comfort of a routine but I need to shake things up a bit.

lostlalaloopsy · 23/12/2018 09:08

I need to finally do something about the anxiety which is crippling me.

I need to cut down on the amount of volunteering I do, I'm doing stuff every night of the week - it's too much.

I need to spend more time outdoors with the dc.

I would like to start taking better care of myself with appearance, weight, clothes, fitness. I really want to start jogging!

Pass my Nat 5 in maths!!!

AnonymousIndividual · 23/12/2018 09:10

Apart from the usual healthy eating, improving fitness, cutting out alcohol, I have a couple of new ones for next year.

I'm going to reduce throwaway fashion, plastics etc and 100% recycle wherever I can (I've been a little lax and a tad lazy, and I feel bad about it).

And I'm looking to get confirmed, which is something I've been pondering for a long time.

Hope you all have success with your aims for 2019! Smile

In 2019 I will:

  • make more environmentally friendly choices (need to look into more ideas to do this)
  • get on top of my debts and try to pay off as much as possible
  • wean my 2yo DS from breastfeeding Confused
  • use my phone less!!

Not too much to work on!

Herja · 23/12/2018 09:12

In the new year I am stopping drinking. I have been recently berieved and it's christmas time, so I have drunk far, far, more than is sensible. Prior to this I was broadly T total. It's going back to that again.

I no longer give a fuck about what anyone thinks of what I do, say, or how I look. That's started a few weeks early, but I think should still count.

I will do more with my beautiful children. Every weekend I have them we're doing a proper activity. There is not enough time in this life and I am going to make sure that I fill theres with love and new exciting things. We're going on a proper holiday next year. To somewhere we will all like. It will not be warm, but there will be climbing and exploring. I'm thinking ireland or Scotland, pissibly the islands.

I'm going to learn how to fish. Late BF was trying to teach me and I was shit at it. His dad has promised to teach me how to fly fish.

I am going to stop living in tbe past. I will build a new future and it will be a fucking good one.

With a bit if luck I'm starting a degree. I have bursaries and places confirmed if I get tge grades. I WILL be getting the grades.

Bubba1234 · 23/12/2018 09:20

To the people wanting to take up yoga it’s a fabulous hobby and exercise I truly believe it keeps people away from disease.

mycatplotsdeath · 23/12/2018 09:24

Make more of an effort with myself
Exercise
Regular hair cut
Read more
Save some money
Be kinder
More me time

RebeccaWrongDaily · 23/12/2018 09:25

i want to only drink 2 days a week.
i want to start running again.
i want to reduce screen time/ time online.
focus on my career.

Bubba1234 · 23/12/2018 09:25

Oh on the appearance one I finally bit the bullet and went to debenhams and bought proper makeup. I found it hard to part with the cash as I’m not that into makeup and I’m crap at it. But I can honestly say the last few days I have been making the effort and I feel a lot better. I’m going to continue this and my skills will hopefully improve Smile

Warmworm · 23/12/2018 09:26

I’m going to learn how to reverse park with confidence! I’ve put it off for 24 years.

Last year I resolved to read more books (which meant less time on technology). It’s been a real success and I read 38 books over the year so I’m really proud of myself. I’m going to keep that up.

swimmerforlife · 23/12/2018 09:28

I feel like me having pregnancies / babies / toddlers etc has made a lot of goals I have set in the past difficult to achieve (I still love my children dearly but youngest is now is 4 means routine has become easier and I am far less tired)

Start swimming regularly again as kids are older, use to do do lots of swimming as a child / teen and in my 20s but since pregnancies / young children, been very hard to do anything other than baby swimming!

Start doing some sewing.

Cooking more variety of dishes (become a better cook in general tbh)

Meet new friends, moving abroad next year so need to network.

Need to stop over-thinking everything!

I really want to go to Asia, done a lot of travelling but only been to two countries in Asia

Potteringon80 · 23/12/2018 09:32

What an uplifting thread!

I’m really serious about goals this year. I know it’s achievable, I just need to start to control my life as opposed to playing the victim/martyr.

  1. I am going to run. Luckily someone I know has just trained as a coach and is starting a course in January. I cannot wait
  1. I will complete an ultra walking challenge later this year
  1. I want to become more mindful/keep a journal and generally become more aware

I’m starting bits towards all of this now, so not putting it off until 2019.

Great goals everyone.

AwkwardSquad · 23/12/2018 09:33

Thanks for the tip, NotPennysBoat, I’ve just bookmarked Yoga with Adriene.

JaiNotJay · 23/12/2018 09:36

I would like to:
Eat better - more home cooked meals, and lots more vegetables.
Exercise more - keen to take up swimming and yoga.
Move house - need to declutter current home, decide where I am moving to, and find a place to buy.
Save money - stick to a monthly budget and buy less stuff.

I'm another one who is anxious about driving, I haven't driven in years. So I need to do something about that too.

Habadabadoo · 23/12/2018 09:40

@NotPennysBoat thanks for the Yoga suggestion. Just watched her intro video and I've subscribed Smile

SureIusedtobetaller · 23/12/2018 09:43

Bit of an overhaul.
Back to exercising and eating well- felt so much better when I was slimmer and stronger.
Find that elusive mid point between flowy individual style and batshit crazy old biddy.
Read more (again, used to)
Better time management at work so I can stress less at home.
Probiotics Smile
Go somewhere I haven’t been before (I try to do this every year).

truthtopower · 23/12/2018 09:49

Lose 3 stone gradually
Carefully manage finances, spend less save more
Blog weekly
Keep an updated list of workout tracks which is motivating
Minimal technology, but keeping what we have charged and in use
Make a career move upward
Use up beauty products before buying more
Go camping at least once

LeftHook · 23/12/2018 09:54

Less time on social media
Learn to make, taylor and mend clothes to reduce environmental impact

fatpatsthong · 23/12/2018 09:56

Read a book a week - 99p deals on kindle yield some great stuff and pre kids/smart phones I was such a book worm!

Increase my activity as the last year and a job that ended up
breaking me has seen be get totally sedentary again

Buy better quality clothes that fit and suit me. I am worth it and it's an economy in the long run. This starts with boots in the sales.

amysaurus87 · 23/12/2018 10:34

@cheesenpickles same here, I rely on public transport but it's not always practical with a buggy, I used to be so confident driving and would happily drive anywhere (apart from into London!) But now I'm so nervous and even more so with my little one in the car.

I love how this thread has some huge life changing goals that people want to achieve.

TeddyIsaHe · 23/12/2018 10:38

My main one is to try and go as plastic-free as possible. I’ve been planning it for a while so have done some research and know where to buy things now. But yes, trying not to fuck up the planet anymore is my big aim.

Habadabadoo · 23/12/2018 10:40

@TeddyIsaHe what a good one, do tell more - any tips?

ScreamingBadSanta · 23/12/2018 10:42

I've been on a 'no spend' since October - that is, only buying essentials - more because I have too much stuff than to save money. I'm going to continue that, and set up a monthly AVC for the money I'm saving.

I'm going to try to eat more vegetables!
